Back in the 1980s, American Airlines CEO Bob Crandall suggested removing a single olive from each salad. It saved the company $40,000 a year. British Airways just said "hold my water bottle".

It is a *serious* failing on Apple's part that they haven't required apps to separate out service notifications from promotional ones. I want Uber to notify me when a delivery or car is nearby, not to suggest I should get takeout tonight. I don't need my robot hoover to show ads. Etc.
