Surely anyone can see that this cat both is & isn't in the box? The real question is if it's alive or dead. THAT dear friends, depends entirely on how long it takes for Otto to forget why he's sitting there & wander off to casually swipe vases & other fragilities off the kitchen bench & window sill

I agree. We all love a great frock or outfit. But in my view, one story belonged in a fashion mag & the other belonged in Crikey. It's a different style of journalism & not what I pay my "serious journalism" subs for in a news/opinion publication

There are many important outcomes from Lattouf's courage. What she wore is cool - lets's leave that coverage to the fashion mags. They're better at outlining how frocks frame culture. Crikey needs to get it's feminist shit together esp since Gina left. The other Crikey story on this was much better

Misjudgement is certainly a very polite explanation. The effect, however, is that the US has lost every war it's touched since WWII and clearly plans for that trend to continue unabated

Damn right. The story should be: can he stay the course despite the arrant nonsense the vested interests will vomit up? As he should

The NSW legislation that governed development for the 2000 Sydney Olympics might be an interesting point of comparison. If I recall correctly diversity in employment (non-existent then) & heritage laws were the least of the things that were carved out

Katherine does not mention in this short piece that women who earn more than their male partners are at far greater risk of violence. So reverse gender pay gaps are clearly a factor in some men's violence toward their partners

"We need more stories about men in caregiving roles; men processing grief healthily & men standing up against harmful behaviour among their peers.
When it comes to messaging and framing, we know that people respond better to solutions-focused framing than to problem-focused framing."

Thanks. We're all good up on the mountain, thankfully. But the ground is sodden with standing water, even on the slopes

Where we are, valley residents are flooded in. We haven't had a dry day for more than a fortnight. 70mls yesterday at home. Our north coast is underwater & 2,000 people are cut off from fresh food & water. 9 'copters working daylight hours on housetop rescues. I think we've had enough rain for now
