Okay, but will you come dunk on it in person? We'll match every dollar you spend with a local business at the 16th Street Grand BAZAAR with a donation to a Denver charity of your choice.
It's like a shopping spree, but you tricked capitalism into doing something nice. Offer good for 48 hours. ⌛

Appreciate your kind words over the last few months. Kept me going when the tank was low.

Dang, this really hit home for me. Hope we can jam a game someday down the road.

Fair! I feel like AITA really took off in the last couple years and one of the problems with being a content factory breathlessly trend chasing is that you step on members of the community without even bothering to do a cursory Google search.

In an unrelated note, check out my episode of this very fun podcast I did, based on a column that started by the host in 2021:

Brother, this is mostly me exploring Pro Magic out loud. At my middle school LGS, you played competitive Magic or you didn't play. It was beaten into me. Coming back 20 years later & seeing this thriving casual space has made me question so much.
Thank you for reading it. Thank you for sharing it.

I appreciate your passion on this, but you might want to consider how you communicate with people about the format. I don't think there was a reason for this to have escalated to this point over a bulk box. Wish you and PDH the best of luck, though! Cool format, hope it continues to flourish.

But to say that I'm arguing someone can only "play official formats at an LGS" is just a wilful misrepresentation of my words on this. I've mentioned that they could just jam some kitchen table games several times on Reddit. You chose to leave that out and I don't think that's particularly fair.

I fundamentally disagree with you about two things:
1) The advice given was helpful for someone who just bought 5,000 commons
2) ANY form of Pauper is where they should start playing the game
I get why you take the latter personally and I don't think we'll resolve that. Which is okay!

Right, which is why my argument was that people telling them they need to get into Pauper was bad advice for a new player. My literal point, Paul.

I mean, that's just not what I said at all and I'm not interested in engaging with ya if you don't want to have an earnest discussion about this. You can't just say "effectively" and then claim I'm making a point counter to actual things I've said.

Hi Paul! My problem is that they can't truly play anything outside of kitchen table with one of these scammy bulk boxes. Let's be upfront about that. If they have friends that play, first yikes that they'd recommend this route, but second they'll sort them out. This didn't read like that to me.

I'm over litmus tests and purity culture. Let's just admit the internet in 2025 fucking sucks and ethical consumption simply does not exist. We're forced to compromise every day. I will not become the cop to police the choice you need to make.
