Neil is back, sorta, but I don't think he'll be at events again. At least not for a while. He gave a half-hearted apology, and I personally think he is more upset about being unpopular than he is his views.
He comes across as uncomfortable with being unkind, but unwilling to change his situation.

I named a Scatterbug Terence on a whim and now 500 hours later he's my best buddy and Vivillon is a favorite.

Or if you ask people who are big fans of that one drama furry, it's because he's an evil cheater. Also, TPCI picks favorites and gives him better match-ups. Also, his friends concede to him to let him advance. Also, he has mirrors behind his opponents.
Common clay of the new west. You know, morons.

The amount of prep time he's afforded by doing this professionally pales in comparison to most other people. He's one of a very select few with the privilege of VGC being his actual job.
That, plus the prep he does do is bonkers, and his willingness to memorize obscure calcs is wild.
He's the guy.

A lot of the magic of Pokémon is having a super cool dude with your own OT name and ID, and while you can hack that in it's way cooler when you do it legitimately. Not just for you but for the people you show it off to.
It's like cheating at cards. Not impressive at all.

Oh snap I just realized you have to be champion to catch it, sorry disregard. Enjoy speedrunning the game with your level 100 starter nonetheless!

You do not.
Do this:
* Make a new Switch profile
* Speed run until you reach the Wild Area
* Catch literally anything
* Put your starter in your PC
* Use HOME to send to it to a game with spare XP items
* Level to 100, send back
* Take the train back to Wedgehurst
* Finish DLC!
Takes ~90 mins. 😊

Can't edit but the convo I'm talking about is after about 90 mins, just grunt it out and spam a or b lol. It's worth it having the second file for events like this.

Like the actual Caught level on the description screen needs to be I believe below 20 and they'll always obey even at level 100.

Catch yourself a break. Speedrun Scarlet until you pass the convo with Nemona and Arven telling you where to start, then catch some random rube. Use HOME to transfer your starter to Violet, power level it, and speedrun the game. Pokémon with your OT always obey you as long as the caught level is low

Yeah maybe don't gen would be my advice, it's easy to get legit stuff. Like painfully easy. Enamorus with low speed is basically the only exception.

Hey now, speak kindly to yourself. It's obvious that you take care of yourself, but more importantly it's clear that you put genuine thought into your work. I'm sure it'll be just fine.

VGC is super fun and guys like Wolfe, James Baek, Aaron Zheng, Joe Ugarte, Michael Kelsch, and many others have made it very approachable. I'd recommend watching a video with a rental team showcase from one of them and giving it a go on the in-game ladder, if you suck who cares? Zero commitment.
