This looks like a shower from Battlestar Galactica if the Cylons won.

For all The Beach Boys magic, this is his song most likely to turn me into a blubbering idiot.

I feel in love with this record and then later learned Jenny had been in another band.

I was at his last spring training start - which may have only been his second of the spring - and I don’t think he threw a pitch faster than 93. Struggled a bit in first inning and then settled in and threw maybe 5 innings of soft contact just like tonight. Fun to watch when it’s working.

First - nice article. Second - purely from the eyeball test, I thought TJ was the kind of player who’s hitting would benefit from banning the shift. I think the spray chart shows that. Third - it feels like he hits those flares to left almost like a drag bunt, one step out of the box already.

If I followed all of that correctly, I will renew my hopes for the Mendoza Line records they did with Misra will get the Merge re-issue treatment. I want Lost In Revelry on vinyl!

I commented earlier this year about how it’s more difficult to get excited about the latest MLB hot prospects because they all sound like something that should be growing in a meadow.

Next lip-reading breakdown Manager: I am not sure I agree with that last call, but I sure respect that you’re doing your best in a high-pressure situation. Umpire: Thanks. But you know what is the right call? Making your first no-risk bet with FanDuel! Both: (laughter)

This is a really informative and well-researched piece. Congratulations

Actually just checked the schedule and Blue Jays are playing at home against Anaheim on the 4th AND it’s the Apple TV game. So they have a chance to do the funniest thing ever. But Manfried will probably make them play in Buffalo.

I would say a someone should photoshop a middle finger on the Blue Jays hat, but they are too polite for that.

Good. Because this guy can fuck all the way off. Pretty sure my high school English teacher wife and middle school math and science teacher share the sentiment.

I need him to save a few until I can get him in my fantasy lineup.

Maybe you can help them with this - truly the most important case currently making its way through our country’s legal system. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/01/b...

Fair. Showing my Midwest, Ohio bias. 🙂

I like to think I blew my kids’ minds when I explained that the highway exit sign numbers corresponded to how many miles apart they were. Instead they probably just rolled their eyes.

Not to start reporter fights, but @msheldon.bsky.social said it was the groin again. Not sure if one would be any better than the other.

I gotta think Hurley would last about 15 minutes before the players revolted.

My old foggy stance is that news outlets exist to tell us what happened and why rather than hopelessly try to predict what will happen in the future.

I ***think*** Herbstreit was at the event in Cbus. (Update) Google says he was.

I know it’s true for every team, but it just seems so blatant that the Reds get a lockdown performance from the relievers on the day they can’t score. Stupendous starter? They lose 1-0. Bang out 6 runs? Bullpen explodes.

Game on the line. Guy whose name I can’t even remember batting .191 is our last hope. Sorta sums things up these days.

That is definitely the vibe / fact around town. And I’ve heard more than one story about the football players using their BMOC status to testify.

This event in Columbus was chock full of OSU football reps.

Based on the scientific evidence gained by my sitting close to the field during a Royals spring training game, JC is the largest human ever.

I think righteous is a wonderful word to describe EJ. I only know him through my TV screen, but he just exudes goodness.

In Ohio they are trying to go beyond sports gambling and allowing other online gambling with the threat that kids are currently gambling their college funds away on the dark web. So we need to make it legitimate “for the kids” and the taxes.

Just finished ep 1. The description “Scottish Slow Horses” drew me in and yeah. All aboard!

I suppose the end of the month was their cutoff, but you would think graduation would be one last good weekend for business. Moving the party to the Blue Danube? Who thought that would be a plan B? (Sorry - having planned two grad parties in the past I know this isn’t a laughing matter.)

Did Abbot top 93 all game? Fun to watch that type of pitching.

Not to get all Willie Mays Hays on this, but like when Billy Hamilton was playing, do you just encourage a player like that to drive it into the ground? Imagine on astroturf.

I was just going to say something as well - heard the news this morning.
