It's like the 90s all over again in that each barb at the show feels like a personal attack on us as fans. Really uncomfortable feeling to shake. 😢

Ranking I'd prolly have to go 1/ RotD 2/HP 3/ SN 4 GSitG but I seem to watch HP and SN more often as I love camp Doctor Who.

GSitG is prolly the story that appealed to me the most as a kid but doesn't have much to offer as an adult apart from the gorgeous, incongruous visuals of circuses and robots and deserts and hippies. Captain Cook and WhizzKid labour the allegory. This could have been a children in need spoof.

I can't lie - I loved Silver Nemesis - and still do despite the criticism. Yes, as an adult I can see that there are dead spots in the action an plot but it felt fresh and exciting at the time and I still think there is mileage left in Lady Peinforte. Now, I just love how damn quotable this is.

Happiness Patrol succeeds where Sunmakers failed. Painting a picture of a dystopian future while still engaging me as an 8 year old (while Sunmakers was BORING). Now, enjoying the high camp and subtexts that I missed as a kid just makes each watch a sweet treat.

Remembrance took so many stale elements - Daleks, Davros, UNIT(sort of), Timelord mythology - and made them interesting again! The 25th anniversary story in spirit, if not name.

Ah, season 25. It's 1988 and nothing hurts anymore. We had no idea what we were on the cusp of - the wilderness years. Visually stunning and idea rich in an almost Burtonesque way (but this was before 1989's Batman which you would swear was an influence). It has only gotten better with age.
