This sort of attitude is a real indication of Arif Ahmed’s institution and discipline, but it simply doesn’t translate to the vast majority of students at the vast majority of institutions. Should chemistry students be “shocked and offended” by their modules? Most students don’t do debate club!

Kiran can’t come out here and explicitly say this is the government kowtowing to the various viciously racist wingnuts snd fash cranks of the British press because if they don’t, they will be destroyed by the Sun, the Mail and the Times. But I can say it, and indeed I am saying it.

I do like the idea of doing classic Detective Era stuff in that world, like the Victorian Age and the Thirties, but it might be more short stories.

Also, because I mentioned it to the DELIGHTFUL @louiestowell.bsky.social, I was on the Writers Routine podcast recently, getting into the depths of Pagans, difference between writing scripts and novels and all that. open.spotify.com/episode/6yUb...

Ha, I think I only have three of those in me, although the idea of doing a more historical one set in Victorian equivalent Lagos or something is oddly appealing.
