The army that helped defeat Adolf Hitler, now in use to pander to a deranged rapist's egomania.

One of the regular things that crop about in relation to Palantir is that their uber-expensive kit isn't nearly as good as they claim it to be. They are a triumph of marketing, PR and lobbying over actual facts.

That'll be why Putin phoned Netanyahu - to say thank you.

Presumably the parading soldiers will have had ammunition removed, just like they did in the Soviet ones!

Although to be fair he does at least always end up with them quitting on him, which is almost firing.

Excellent article. Nice to see Keynes saying "whatever we can do, we can afford to do". Bring back JMK!

He's basically the definition of 'undesirable alien'.

Including one directly onto IDF headquarters. Not a great start.

Yes indeed, plus a state of permanent red alert makes it that much harder to get him into court and prison.

Wasn't Caligula executed by his own military?

Passing on good wishes from here in the UK, one of many millions of allies you have over in Europe. Good luck with the day and more power to you all.

One easy way to tell it isn't the UK is that the sun is shining.

This is exactly what a government would do when it has decided to take no serious action to reduce the glaring inequality that has built up and is in fact committed to policies that can only widen it further.

Can you give us the gist Mehdi? Lots of us are careful not to support the NYT with actual money.

Trump is such a great opportunity moment for thick redneck local cops all over the country to swagger their stuff.

It exposed for all to see that the Trump circles regard members of the US legislature as nothing more than a minor irritant on their road to dictatorship.

£ to a p this will have been lifted from a lobbyist PR release. BBC newsroom is famous for being extra credulous to the lobbyists, especially if they also happen to be right wing.

It's increasingly looking like we mostly need to give up eating fish, which is not a good thing, perhaps inevitable though given population sizes. Factory farming is almost as bad as strip mining the oceans in its environmental and species damage. There isn't an alternative.

Those that do leave invariably come back. Life in London, it turns out, is a lot more pleasant and enjoyable than in the cultural deserts of Dubai, Monaco and the Grand Caymans.

I've lost track of the number of times the media reported a mass exodus of millionaires and billionaires. IT NEVER HAPPENS.

Permanent war does benefit all the usual suspects, like arms manufacturers and related security industries. There's too much money at stake for US corporations to easily give up on the Bibi. He is their friend and they are his.

Either that or it's just another evidence of continuation of business as usual under a wrapper of public rhetoric. They sent their arms sales envoy to Tel Aviv on the same day that the Fore-sec came out against the IDF and they continue to run spy flights for Israel.

It's the Military Cooperation Agreement (2020) that the UK signed with Israel. Routine stuff from the MoD's perspective. Horrific to the rest of us.

It's the classic battle against tyranny now.

The clip reminds one strongly of videos from Iran, Saddam's Iraq, China, etc. Total indifference by the state to their own laws and norms, fanatical suppression of free speech.

There is now clearly a strong case for this.

So clear from her behavior and that of those federal agents who assaulted him that his skin colour and accent were the driving factor. They didn't see a Senator, they saw an angry Mexican.

A difficult project when there is no story beyond wearisome platitudes and a lukewarm rehash of late Blairism.

Although having BBC output defined by Farage and his cronies would probably make a change from having it controlled by the IEA as it presently is.
