I would be salty but it only happens if the player does really well and Sunderland get a big fee. A lot of these deals don’t happen for such small fees without add ons, clauses and incentives

It benefits everyone. If they don't live up to the hype then Sunderland don't pay. Sunderland will have negotiated sell-on clauses deals for outgoing player deals. Suspect Jobe will have one if/when he leaves. Clarke has one. They're a useful tool in the modern game
