Masai didn't think Pascal was worth a max contract extension. When the 2020's history of Raptors basketball is written it's going to be called 'Afraid of the Luxury Tax: The 2020's Raptors' with the subtitle 'when you gas up your players until you have to pay them.'

He has been a particularly forceful proponent of gun control after massacres in the US. This might get ugly from the US right.

No, that's not what I'm saying, but I really hope you enjoyed attacking an imaginary argument.

If a population has a birth rate of 1.1 for a sustained period of time the 50% reduction happens. But if it happens again the 50% comes from the already halved population. The math accelerates exponentially. Eventually a bottom will be found but turning it around is way harder if identified late.

This is a bad math take.

Check out the 1 minute candle when the news broke. Algos went lower quick to take the stops of short-dated longs 😜

He keeps telling us that he was saved by God to enact the things he campaigned on doing, that's all you need to know in one sentence.

I'm looking at the chart and it says $60. I'm also looking at WTI futures and it says $60. You don't need to embellish to prove your point.

He’s sitting next to Gary Bettman. He was in the commissioners box for such a momentous occasion of his record being broken and Patel was invited as well. Cut the fake outrage bullshit.

Considering the tariffs on Vietnam/China I'll sell anyone my untouched pair or Jordan 12's size 13 for $900 USD paypal only thanks. Going to be a bargain considering where we are going.

I hope enough American soldiers would refuse orders to ally with dictatorships against democracies if that were to happen. And that there would be massive protests.

I think the headline is missing the word “trade.” I’ve seen other correct headlines: “close trade ties is over”

I work in the markets. It's not a guaranteed cash cow. Buy bonds if that's what you want, ffs.

Not surprising, a lot of police offiers are piggish, but CBP folks have extra oink even in the best of times.

That’s the only way. Impeach the 3 left who voted for CU for enabling autocracy.

You guys ain't getting your democracy back until Citizens United goes and oligarchs are forced to sell their media platforms. Winning an election or two without reform isn't going to change that, they will just hoist the next monster on you when they can.

The point of being in opposition is to be obstinate, not to govern. Be obstinate! Vote no!

Good point. That's encouraging. Fuck GIllibrand and Schumer.

That's the fear, you're right. And with good reason.

- not wanting to wear masks during a pandemic even to keep business open - opposing defending Ukraine with ridiculous conspiracy theories even if it means supporting a former KGB mass murderer - Gutting the IRS even if it means eventual significant gutting of public finances arsonists

The "they voted to hurt other people" crowd was right.

The first time the Americans elected Trump I could waive it away, especially with the resistance that followed. The second time? After explicitly revealing who he was and what he was planning on doing? I dunno man. You guys have to overturn Citizens United to save your democracy.

Every person entering another country is on a visa legally, it doesn't matter if they give it to you. I'm Canadian. It's NAFTA terminology look it up.
comment in response to post
Canadian visitor visa is 180 days I think. I know lots of young people that have overstayed.

Twitter / X is down again, the worst outages in years on the same day Elon Musk is getting intense amounts of criticism from all sides and $TSLA Tesla's stock is crashing. You're a detective now son, you aren't allowed to believe in co-incidences.
comment in response to post
Canadian living in Germany here...social stigma right now is if you buy a Tesla right now you're a Nazi. Can't wait for Q1 earnings, my guess is they are going to talk a lot about robots and not a lot about sales.

Elon was tweeting about this in the morning - complaining Starlink is banned in SA because it has no black part ownership, etc. I knew something was up.

A role of the markets is to teach idiot policy makers a lesson if they run afoul. It used to be far more common and more damaging.

The base has never wanted the BIden-Harris immigration policy. Dem voters are far to the right on immigration compared to the policy we saw from Biden-Harris. No one wants non-enforcement of immigration laws other than ideologues.
