Proud to have been apart of this team. Research methodology matters. Policy should be based on methodologically sound research. Our results show the many methodological flaws of the Cass Review. Check it out ⬇️

Why it's essential we make more accessible work for disabled people. We're doing our small bit — but it shouldn't just be down to disabled people to create the work for ourselves

“You don’t look that sick to me” No kidding. I’ve got an invisible illness and have spent most of my life learning to hide it. Why? Because people don’t want to see it. They expect you to hide the pain, fatigue & loss of function. To put on a happy face for their comfort.

Really good from Laurie Penny on trans panic and 'sensible' people lauriepenny.substack.com/p/terf-islan...

Is now the time to act? In this video I explain what the Supreme Court judgment does - or doesn’t say - about intersex and non-binary rights, and whether it changes the law there. #intersex #nonbinary #supremecourt #equality #women #lgbtq #trans #humanrights

The UK Supreme Court’s transphobic ruling on the definition of woman last week is a defeat for all women—even, ultimately, the self-described feminists celebrating it, and the women who will gain in the short term from their alliance with the carceral state. my latest for @thenation.com

Want to contact your MP about the Supreme Court ruling? @transsolidarity.bsky.social has created an MP letter template to help get you started docs.google.com/document/d/1... 🙂💪

Thousands show solidarity at #TransRightsAreHumanRights Demo in Parliament Square.

Today's the big day! There are 22 planned protests all over the UK and even one abroad! Find out if there's one near you here: whatthetrans.com/compilation-...

I will be attending this protest today. We need urgent action to protect trans human rights. See you there. feministgenderequality.network/urgent-parli...

Now is a great time to be supportive of trans people you know, or those you don't. Actually, always is a great time to speak out against the goddamn lying ghouls trying to pretend trans people are some mysterious threat to anyone, and not just people trying to live their lives.

My analysis of today's UK Supreme Court judgment. The UK Supreme Court Rules That Trans Women Aren't Women Under the Equality Act 2010 www.wearequeeraf.com/uk-supreme-c...

Please more cisgender people do this. Read @jessothomson.co.uk's and @goodlawproject.bsky.social's articles on the impact of the supreme court ruling and demand primary legislation to urgently safeguard trans rights.

Yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling will feel heavy for many of us - especially the trans community. The mental health toll of public debate, constant scrutiny in the media, and legal decisions like this is profound. For trans people, this isn’t just political or legal. It’s personal. Exhausting. 1/4

Pretty sickened by UK's Supreme Court 🤮 So I'm opening my submission inbox to unagented trans authors in the UK until the END OF APRIL. I'm not currently open to general subs BUT if you're a trans author writing folk horror, weird, experimental, mystery, literary/upmkt fiction, take a look below 👇

Physiotherapy in Motion: A Philosophical Inquiry Through a PhD Journey Writing a PhD thesis is as much about grappling with ideas as it is about writing them down. Here, I attempt to put some of those struggles into words. mattlow904707.substack.com/p/physiother...

Know anyone looking for a postdoc position, or to get their PhD, interested in causality (from ling/psych/phil angles) using the tools of experimental and computational pragmatics? Positions in Tübingen (near me!) and Edinburgh Apps due March 14, to start June 2025 ideally

So many I'd love to share art from do this. If you've on this site more than 6months, you know how and why you should. You've been told how to do it And that your art reaches more eyes. If money and YOUR OWN DISABLED FRIENDS, won't get you to stop you don't actually want friendship w/disabled folks.

It's me, a follower who benefits from alt text. I read that shit over half of the time. My eyes work, but my brain needs to help sometimes to make sense of what I'm looking at or give me the context to remind me of the reference to get the joke. I love when people let me get the joke, too.

Remember the Cass Report, which supposedly "followed the science" on trans kids health? The huge York University epidemiology study on which it was based has finally been published, and it contradicts many of the report's conclusions. By @gidmk.bsky.social. gidmk.substack.com/p/gender-dys...

“Oh man, they’re throwing disabled people under the bus!” Me, from under the bus wheel: NOW you notice?!

Personally I think if fascists are banning something right and left, that should a signal that it’s awesome actually and everyone should learn as much about trans things as they can.

Find it very annoying that in light of the horrible shit that’s happening to trans people in the US, the narrative of cis progressives is still “he won’t stop at trans people!!” when it is actually bad even if he did stop there as trans people are, in fact, people

I now really want a T-shirt saying "Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies" 😄 Did, like, a really bad LLM write this?

If I could help non disabled people understand one thing about being disabled, it would be how important maintaining a baseline is. When you’re chronically ill, your baseline is everything. Even minor setbacks can be catastrophic, so we have to do a risk analysis before literally ANY activity 🧵

Hey everyone, the Blue Rose cut of Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me is *available for free* on the internet archive! This extended version (1 hour longer) is - dare I say - better than the official release... archive.org/details/fwwm... #twinpeaks

A bonus of using alt text, that seems pertinent today, is people don't see pictures of things they have muted.

UK based trans people - we need your help (if you're 18+, sorry u18s)! The Trans Lives Survey 2021 is due for an update. More than 700 of you helped us last time, we need at least that many people again to complete our survey for the updated version. Take the survey: https://buff.ly/3ZNjAnh #Trans

Lawmakers keep harming trans youth under a thin guise of care. This piece is from 2023, but the ethical analysis still applies: these laws discriminate in ways best explained not as care or caution but as acts of transphobia. www.prindleinstitute.org/2023/04/anti...

Looking to connect Bluesky's legion of philosophy PhD students. I've gotten a start based on my followers, please let me know if I should add you! (Apologies if I've missed a mutual here...)

Disappointing to see so many pictures posted in the last few weeks without alt text.

If you’re interested/working in climate and health, or sustainable healthcare, this starter pack now has almost 130 people in it. Been so great to find many new people! Will also add list of other relevant packs in thread. Let me know if you have recommendations! go.bsky.app/CNgg2Hv

Ten thousand 🙏 to everyone who has signed our petition to ban driven grouse shooting! The Govt will now have to respond. But we're not finished yet - we want a parliamentary debate and for that we need 100,000 signatures. Can you help us reach our target? petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...
