It did work, but the referendum choice was FPTP v 6 other PR alternatives. Was blatant attempt to split the PR vote. It’s only because people voted tactically for MMP that we don’t still have FPTP.
MMP is much better. I love having a party vote and a constituency vote.

This is exactly what I’ve been trying to get across in response to Ben’s post. With good intentions, everything but the kitchen sink (excuse the flippancy of the colloquialism, but…) can get thrown at a child. We can’t just try things on a whim. Careful and thoughtful discussions needed.

If European nations want Trump to support Ukraine, they have to ramp up their own support for Ukraine and punishment of Russia to such a degree that it becomes obvious on FOX News that Russia is losing.

There are so many of my disabled friends, who I love dearly, who have clawed their way into a somewhat functional life, who deserve peace of mind along with PIP, ESA, UC, a place to live, healthcare. They have suffered enough under austerity.

There are other bits of the white paper that might help people back into work and are quite sensible.
But PIP is what people are upset about and that's not about work but who needs additional support regardless of employment status.
