Gay marriage was impossible. Then it wasn't. National Health Care is no different and we have the support: Pew Research Center: "Among the public overall, 63% of U.S. adults say the government has the responsibility to provide health care coverage for all, up slightly from 59% last year."

Thanks Mr. Chamberlain! I guess the only way to help Ukraine develop is to first give up 20% of their land. Smart!

This is too: "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.'" Trump is a horror, but he hasn't yet done as much damage as his progenitor Reagon. Yet.

I think this might the most anti-constitutional statement by an American President: "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.'" Trump is a horror, but he hasn't yet done as much damage as his progenitor Reagon. Yet.

Shouldn't someone introduce Musk to condoms, or maybe to a Vasectomy?

Here's a fact you can spread: "The federal civilian worker payroll totaled $271 billion in 2022. The annual cost of permanently extending Trump's tax cuts that primarily benefited rich individuals? $400 billion. Keep this in mind as Trump and Elon lay off thousands of federal workers."--Robert Reich

It's toxic masculinity as policy. What could possibly go wrong?

This story seems incomplete, and I hope you will follow up on it. If Trump continues to defy the courts what's the next step? If Trump is held in contempt what happens?

It was easily one of the most moving films this year. Everyone should see it!

All we can really hope at this point is that the inevitable coming disaster is limited, and that people finally unlearn the big Reagan lie, that government is the problem.

Meanwhile, right-wing fanatics, Trump and Musk, are attacking the CDC. Let's hope scientists can track any potential epidemic from home.

Why not focus on the Defense Department, long known for waste and fraud? They have an 800-billion-dollar budget. I bet 300 billion dollars would go a long way to creating national health care.

Here's the problem. This sounds but it is a slogan made necessary by our economic focus on profits over people. If we focused on people over profit, then we might welcome this way of life. In our current economy, it's a euphemism for cyclical impoverishment and the concentration of wealth.

Yes. He passed a law that make breaking the law illegal. That's MAGA! If you do nothing, you must have done something!

This time the system worked. Let's hope at some point it will work again and put Trump in prison. I don't care if he is 85 at the time, he's a lifelong criminal.

An old Turkish proverb states: "When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a sultan. The palace becomes a circus."
comment in response to post
It's funny how they are no longer talking about "the most violent criminals here illegally." How long before they stop talking about "illegal aliens" and just start talking about people they don't want here?
comment in response to post
Why the euphemism? He just broke the law again by firing at least 17 IGs. Can't you at least report the truth?
comment in response to post
Oh good. When Dear Leader suspends the constitution and starts firing squads for Democrats maybe he will "express his discomfort." He's the dictionary definition of a coward.
comment in response to post
It's sickening, isn't it?
comment in response to post
I understand your need to cover the president, but this seems gratuitous. Why not cover in depth the fact that he-- a felon-- just broke the law by firing IGs in at least 17 departments? This seems to be preparing the ground for corruption. Isn't that more important than listening to him bullshit?

He's following the history of William Randolph Hearst, Joseph Kennedy (JFK's father), Charles Lindbergh, John Rockefeller, and Andrew Mellon, all supporters of Nazi Germany.
comment in response to post
Dear Leader wants someone running Defense who will fire anyone who objects to using the military domestically. My guess is that he wants to use the military in the deportations and maybe the coming protests. That said, I bet some scandal will drive Hegseth out of office within six months.

What's with the weirdly passive language? These things aren't magic. The President prevented the CDC from publishing vital health information needed by the American people. Why is it so hard to assign blame to the person in charge? Does the buck stop anymore?
comment in response to post
I appreciate the honesty here-- not something I see or hear much on "Morning Edition" for example, which I have been listening to for decades-- but why are you so scared about using the word "lie" or "lying again." This isn't some new thing. His lies have been well documented for a decade now.

This is classic MAGA smarts. I mean, those January 6th tourists Dear Leader set free are nothing compared to these elementary aged student terrorists. We can spot the MAGA Shamon a mile away but a ten-year-old? They are super stealth.

It's not so much authoritarianism as it is just more stupid hyperbole. If you call it the former, you feed their fantasy, if you call the latter, you burst their bubble.

It's understandable. Trump is one of the most despicable people in American political history. A liar, a racist, a sexist, a criminal, a sexual offender. Lots of folks might want to "go along to get along" but she doesn't have to. Good for her. Let's hope millions follow her example.

It seems like a real stretch to call what he did today "answering questions." Someone should do the math, but I think he avoided answering questions about 99% of the time. Most often his "answer" was some sort of accusation about the Biden administration.

Congratulations! You are the sort of leader we need and want, particularly in Texas. Keep going, one day you will be in the majority.

I am less interested in how many millionaires a rich man creates and more interested in how well he treats his workers. How many have good health care, including dental, and vision insurance. What's the ration of lowest paid to highest pad?
