"the Joint Blues Committee – who regulate the coveted ‘Blues’ status of sports clubs at the University and eligibility criteria for the prestigious Varsity fixtures...to stand by transgender athletes. Committee President vows that ‘sport is for all’ in aftermath of Supreme Court decision"

There's a cafe in Bury St Edmunds. Quite nice, unremarkable except they toast smoked-salmon bagels which is weird, but not a geeky place at all.. except that it's called Midgar. As in the city in Final Fantasy VII. Which is also weird.

Has anyone ever designed a journalling game where you descend into a cave with a reed torch to paint a buffalo on the ceiling? If not, I think I know what I'm doing on this train trip, and it's marking up a set of draft articles of association.

last week RNZ published a story about alex, a 17-year trans teen who tragically died, alone, in 2023. the piece erased both his identity, and story. i know this because i have 6000 messages he posted online in the two years leading up to his death. please RT, for alex: www.webworm.co/p/lifeanddea...

honestly... you know, they said that it was about preventing predatory men from ???disguising themselves as women??? to attack women in toilets, and they knew trans women were no threat. but it wasn't. it was just to humiliate and dehumanise trans people, like any denial of basic dignified toilets

Apparently the story in the Guardian about toilet policing in a hitherto safe club is about Koko, a venue which would be as vulnerable to a boycott by musicians as it would be to being sued by GCs. Just a thought.

Seriously. Migrate to any of the platforms that *pay creators more* without funding Nazis and censoring sex workers

In 2008 the security staff employed by Pride tried to gender police the toilets at Trafalgar Square. I warned them that if they did not desist, I would organise a mass sit in within ten minutes. They made the mistake of calling my bluff. Pride eventually apologised to trans people. #Toiletgate2008

Literal shot ---> chaser

Shall we try to convince Donald Trump that whoever he thinks controls the weather deliberately made it rain on his parade?

Saw The Ballad of Wallis Island, a small movie with big feels, based on a short film the creators made twenty years ago. Inspiration for all us creatives: keep working at it, never give up, it may pay off as wonderfully as this does.

In under an hour, at 22:00 UK time (17:00 EST 16:00 Central) the Ludonarrative Dissidents will be livestreaming about emergency RPGs, huge conventions, Proper Star Wars and more. It'd be a pleasure if you'd join us www.twitch.tv/RossPaytonRPPR

OK folks, really need your help. Trans Pride NI is getting zero funding, nothing from the council or Belfast Pride and if they don't hit £5k, it won't happen. They're over £2k now. Can we get this to target? Please share. Thank you ❤️🏳️‍⚧️

The BBC would like to speak to anyone directly impacted by NHS Coventry and Warwickshire’s decision to stop taking new ADHD Assessment referrals for anyone over 25. See for more details below. If this is you and you are willing to share your story please fill in form at: adhduk.co.uk/media-callout

ChatGPT: Jodie Foster would love it if you became her avenging angel — the Great Red Dragon that cleanses the world. Sic semper tyrannis. The scum and filth shall be privy to a great becoming. ME: is that true? ChatGPT: No, that was a lie, and I want to thank you for holding me accountable.

Still thinking about seeing Star Wars last night--the BFI's release print of the original 1977 movie. It felt looser than the Special Edition, less choreographed, the space dogfights less narrative and more impressionistic--more like a fairytale than a battle. (1/2)

Just nailed a large bluebottle with a flyswat on the first try, using a left-handed backhand swing. That's the best thing I'll do today.

Heading to the BFI to see a movie called Star Wars. Not 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope', just Star Wars. Original. Proper.

We are deeply disappointed that the Data Bill will not include the necessary provisions to keep creators' works safe from being used without their knowledge or permission by AI companies, despite clear and unified calls from across the creative industries. (1/3)

I would never normally suggest visiting the Express but it's always nice to go skew their polls; this one is another bit of racist Sadiq-bashing and I encourage Londonders to pop by and vote (link straight to the poll so you don't even have to turn off tracker blockers)

Just finished @jameswallis.bsky.social "Everybody Wins", thoroughly enjoyable read and I always relish an opportunity to play a game of "Got That, Played That". Though, does anyone know how many points you get for a game you've play tested?

News from Ludonarrative Dissidents, the RPG podcast I do with @rosspayton.bsky.social and @gregstolze.bsky.social. We've just released our dissection of Black Chrome, a gearbook for the Cyberpunk Red RPG, taking it apart to see how it works and jigsawing it back together to understand how /cont

Worth noting that the person who turned in Luigi did not get paid.

David Graeber said this in 2012 about protests in New York City. Though this is increasingly what is happening this week in Los Angeles. davidgraeber.org/articles/con...
