If you use ai to get schoolwork done, you're cheating yourself. It's like paying thousands to go to the gym, only to have a robot lift the weights for your whole workout. You've saved yourself some trouble, but in the process you've lost the whole reason why you're there in the first place.

But that's not what education is. Professors aren't essay-vores, colleges aren't report-factories. The goal isn't the paper, the goal is giving you knowledge and skills to improve your future - the paper just stands to show what you've learned.

"If I find the main female character attractive, it was made for me and it validates me. If I don't find them attractive, it is a grave and personal insult."

A romance set in medieval Hungary, it's been a real treat researching for this series! www.amazon.com/Lady-Rivers-...

The fruits of the "fake news" ideology, where anything can be denied and no standard of evidence is more convincing than vibes.

I love all the guys who get offended by this idea. "What do you mean, my core values matter for our compatibility? Can't you just ignore my beliefs and actions and date me anyway?" Really makes it clear what they think relationships are.

The things that really make us happy - community support, authentic relationships, creative expression - are far harder to monetize than individual consumption. Modern capitalism pushes us to degrade our most important values in the name of profit.

I'm sure at some point I'll get used to it, but every sale still feels unbelievable to me! I put some words on a page, and other people... Want to read them? They'll even PAY for the privilege? Absurd. Impossible.

It's insane how far republicans will go for the sake of signalling allegiance. They have so few people of genuine worth, they'll make a celebrity of ANYONE, as long as they're publicly against anything the libs support.

Absolutely true. Some people think writing just requires creativity, but there's a whole world of craft and skill that goes into making your creativity shine. Nobody can sit down and play a piano concerto flawlessly without practice. The same goes for writing a book.

Never forget that the goal of insurance companies is to pay out as little as possible, despite that literally being their only purpose. The profit motive drives them to innovate new ways to NOT pay their customers. There is no other way they can compete. Health care is incompatible with markets.

It's hard sometimes, convincing myself that all this work is worth it, but it gets a bit easier every time someone new picks up one of my books. So thank you, to everyone who's supported me thus far. I hope you keep enjoying my stories.

What's more, with great historical fiction, we can see the seeds of our present moment, and we can understand a little better how we came to be where we are today.

Sure, not every book will resonate with every reader, but I think it benefits us all to be a little more openminded when we're trying a new author. Everyone has something to say, and sometimes the perspectives that seem least relevant to you are actually the ones you most need to hear.

It takes a real genius to think making Mars livable would be easier than preventing Earth from becoming unlivable.

People are attracted to simple moral rules like "we can disagree and love each other" because they feel poignant and wise, but as it turns out there's actually a lot of nuance in the world, and it's our responsibility to acknowledge that.

As long as you could honestly wish for everyone in the world to do the same, I think he'd be okay with that.

All we have in the end is experiencing stuff! That's literally all we have! Nothing is better than having cool stuff to experience!

The human experience: control is impossible, but if we struggle hard enough, we can convince ourselves otherwise.

That's fair, I can understand why someone wouldn't find it satisfying. It felt authentic to me, the idea that sometimes even love isn't enough to overcome all the baggage and history you have with a place or person. It sucks, but sometimes the best thing you can do is cut ties and start fresh.

A specific callback to her hallucinated conversation with Silco. "Killing isn't mercy," and "The cycle only ends when you walk away." It's certainly not blatant in the story, but I think that disappointment -> hope trajectory is an intended audience reaction.

I took her surviving to be "story as written," given that there are multiple scenes in the last few minutes (Caitlyn tracing the vents, the final shot of the dirigible) that *only* exist to suggest that Jinx escaped. The culmination of her arc being she can only heal by getting away from it all.

Reading is one of the best things you can do in your free time, but it shouldn't be the ONLY thing you do. I know it can be tough, but if we're going to grow as people we need a range of challenges, and other people - living, breathing, reacting-in-real-time people - offer things books never can.

Wow, that's a great writing day! Love when you find the zone like that.
