If she could feel shame she would be sad now.

Receipts are no good when you are dead. Blackmailers often forget about the third option.

Too bad Elon’s mom wasn’t there to stop the fight again. I am still bummed we didn’t get that Musk/Zuck fight.

Constant stress (financial in this case) is very bad for mental health.

On one hand it is good that being a hate monger online is not profitable, but maybe if this guy wasn’t broke he wouldn’t be so hateful.

You were talking about going after Russell Voight, who has been careful to have only lackeys like Donald Trump do his dirty work. While that is conspiracy, most prosecutors won’t even try to go for that charge because the burden of evidence is too high and those cases rarely succeed.
comment in response to post
Conspiracy cases are much harder to prove. Generally speaking you are only going to get convictions against the guys who broke the law, not the guys who told them to do it. Even Al Capone only went to jail on Tax Evasion.

Something like 35% of all Americans? That’s an old figure, but he still has millions of followers.
comment in response to post
What if you were to criminally prosecute the previous administration over all of the laws they flagrantly broke? Certainly that would have at least a little restorative power on the rule of law.

Oh yeah. I had the state map in my car and printed out directions from Mapquest. Mapquest directions worked great until you made an error and then became utterly useless. Funding yourself on the always incomplete and sometimes out of date map was also tricky. People used to get lost *all the time*

You have a good point. If Ukraine keeps this up Russia may be forced to invade their country.

All of this stuff was in the Project 2025 document if they had bothered to read it. If they are claiming ignorance then it was willful ignorance.

Racist politics never change do they? This could have been a modern day poster for Trump practically word for word. Elon would have funded it.
comment in response to post
Obviously. If they waited for them to commit crimes first it would take forever since most won’t commit a crime. The point is to make the racists happy, not uphold the rule of law.

Elon read all about how the Nazis did their best work when high as balls, but don’t finish the book to see how it turned out after a few years.

Exit row clearly. No tray table on the seat in front of him.
comment in response to post
I mean other than the obvious? The current administration is not exactly sticklers for “rule of law”. They are just kinda winging it.

This reminds me of how FiOS used to toss in free HBO regularly as their prices skyrocketed. It was not enough to prevent me from cutting the cord.

They’ll just appeal it up to the Supreme Court. When this court split 4-4 on “does the Constitution say anything about separating church and state” I knew we were cooked.

Plus everything is on a green screen sound stage so there was little opportunity for the actors to move around and interact with the environment. Felt like long computer game cutscenes where interaction is limited because anything like that would require time consuming scripting and rigging.

I still remember when TOR was the only company making money on ebooks because they were the only company that just put them up for sale without ridiculous DRM requirements.

Maybe better to say that the Jedi policies seem to naturally cause the people to seek more authoritarian governments for some reason. The Empire didn’t spring out of nothing. The will of the people is reflected in its origins.

There are no blue checks on here. On the other site you could always count on the blue checks to deliver the worst most disgusting takes, no matter the topic.

Tax cuts for billionaires. They aren’t even being subtle about this. It is a straight up wealth transfer to the ultra-rich.

The stock is up 5% because the market is not a rational place.

Sure, if you think Dictators are a left wing phenomenon it would be strange and disconcerting for the possibility of a right wing dictator emerging. The right wing is supposed to be all about individual liberties, not centralized control after all.
comment in response to post
“They were National SOCIALISTS.” An actual argument you will frequently see on the right wing blogosphere.

These guys think all dictators in history were far left.

The most shocking thing to me is that “Crypto Influencer” clears half a million in ad revenue in a year on social media. Are we sure this isn’t some money laundering thing?

Cybertruck has 4 wheel steer. It can squeeze into crazy tight spaces. Well, they would be regular sized spaces for most cars, but one of the party tricks a Cybertruck can do is parallel park in places that make people go “no fucking way”.
comment in response to post
“The right way” was always “don’t come”. Their vision of America has always been “Got mine, fuck you.”

I used to worry that super-intelligent AIs were going to replace my job because it is better at it than I am. Now I worry that dumbass AIs will take my job but screw everything up and wreck the world in the process.

I can definitely see her getting ratfucked by the DNC because she said some things that upset some big corporate doners. The DNC only knows how to fundraise, actual campaigning is not something they seem to understand anymore.
comment in response to post
Did you not read the project 2025 plan? These guys have been preparing for years to be able to hand out marching orders and have Trump rubber stamp everything they need. It’s great for Trump, he gets a lot of stuff “done” and still has most of the day left to play golf.
comment in response to post
You should be vetting dependencies anyway. You don’t want to be using the next log4j or left-pad.
comment in response to post
Wouldn’t that require a conviction? Merely charging someone shouldn’t be sufficient. Even after a conviction it is legally dubious.

I think he mistook a golden age for the gilded age. It does feel like this administration is working as hard as it can to bring back the days of robber barons and catastrophic wealth disparity.

How is this harder than flying some guy down there commercial with his passport, renting a car and driving out to the jail, picking him up, and then returning to the airport for the commercial flight back?
comment in response to post
Not to put too fine a point on it, but the post I replied to said that Biden's support of Israel was the reason people voted for Trump.
comment in response to post
I swear nobody remembers stuff from even a month ago? Trump is going to get away with so much if people really have memories this short.
comment in response to post
I guess nobody remembers this video? It was only a month ago. www.cnn.com/2025/02/26/w... The video says it only plans to "displace" the Palestinians, but given how they are already backed up to the sea the only place left to displace them from is this mortal coil.
comment in response to post
Yes, and thank God that Trump brought a swift end to the conflict that was equitable to both sides. Imagine how bad it would look if he went “Hey Bibi, when you finish killing all of the Palestinians I’ll build a big luxury resort on top of the rubble.”

I would accept an Ashli Babbit statue if it depicts her crawling through the broken in window.
