Clarkson’s Farm feels like light entertainment—chaos, charm, and countryside quirks. But beneath the surface, it’s pushing a narrative: that farming is noble, harmless, and under siege. The truth is messier. Watch 📺: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd2b...

The developer-led housing model is broken. It has failed to deliver affordable homes. Torching environmental safeguards won’t fix it—the bottleneck isn’t just process, it’s profit. We need a progressive alternative: mass council house building in sustainable communities.

Badgers use the same paths for generations. But roads now cut through those paths – putting them at risk every night. Learn how a road death turned into a rescue mission: Sally Jones reports

Swifts once numerous across East Anglia are now becoming so rare, it's a good news story when spotted. These amazing birds fly 14,000 miles every year - one of the longest migration journey of any bird, to and fro Equatorial & southern Africa. Least we can do is enable them to nest here... 👇

So after quite a few weeks investigating Ireland’s culling of badgers to control TB, I found data that shows that a staggering 80% of the protected species killed by the Department of Agriculture were TB free. jrnl.ie/6709659

Labour has denounced me as ‘deeply misleading’ on its planning reform. I wish that were true | George Monbiot

The idea that companies are legally required to "maximise profit" is a lie. Section 172 of the Companies Act says otherwise. Companies must consider people, planet, and community — not just shareholders. But nobody enforces the law. By @richardjmurphy.bsky.social

1. One of capitalism’s greatest successes is to shut down our imaginations. With the help of its favoured tools - neoliberalism and fascism - it persuades us that “there is no alternative”. Our first task is to re-ignite our moral imaginations and name our alternatives. 🧵

Trump is holding a gun to the head of Zelensky, demanding huge reparations payments and laying claim to half of Ukraine's oil, gas and hydrocarbon resources, as well as almost all of its metals and much of its infrastructure. - With no security guarantees. Trump is no friend of Europe!

Why 👇 tiny plastic nurdle pollution in our seas & on our East Anglian beaches is so harmful. Due to their size (lentil size) nurdles are difficult to clean up, are the bane of every beach cleaner's life & if left, are consumed in mistake for fish eggs or break down to nanoplastics. Not good.

Sickening scenes. www.huntsabs.org.uk/sabs-eye-in-...

The Norfolk coast & The Wash play a critical role in global bird migration, serving as a vital feeding ground & nesting site for rare & threatened species such as terns and wading birds. It is a race against time & tide to clear up plastic nurdle pollution before it kills or maims wildlife.

Making economic growth the overriding purpose, to which all else must be sacrificed, not only trashes ecological and social values. It's also spectacularly bad politics. Governments can't control growth, but when it dips, this government, by its own criteria, fails. A rod for its own back.
