I've got the Marti Michell templates, so cut the triangles at the "correct" size. (set A?) Also used my old Judy Hopkins "Around the block" book. I had to be more finicky than usual about my 1/4" seam and check as I went. The fabric was all from my stash, so no surplus for mistakes

Cancer is not a singular disease, so there will be no singular cure. Cervical cancer has been all but eliminated in the cohort of people who received the HPV vaccination series. Researchers don't make significant salaries. But the large pharmaceutical companies, no doubt that they're price gouging

How does that work with Penguin already having the name Putnam as an imprint? And wow, do I feel old! I remember that imprint on library books from loong before Penguin acquired it

Mid 70s New Zealand, new-ish school, so the girls go 6 weeks each woodwork and metalwork and the boys 6 weeks each sewing and cooking. The rest of the 2 was as you'd expect. I still have the wooden spatula I made in my kitchen drawer

And we trust them not to arrest people when they try to take up the offer? I suppose it is cheaper than those wretched deportation flights, and maybe better optics, so...🤷‍♀️

The sheer nastiness of their tv/YT ads and their unrelenting repetition just lit a burning fire of "I will preference you last at all costs" in me

Howard was PM and a lightning rod for dissatisfaction with the then current government. Peter Dutton was the opposition leader. No active government decisions he was carrying the can for. He lost in his own right on the campaign the LNP ran. Australia doesn't want his/their vision for the future

Growing up (Baby Boomer here) we had veggie gardens and a couple of fruit trees. We were NEVER self-sufficient. All staples were bought, the garden was supplementary, although it goes without saying the tomatoes were better 😄 And yes it took time and effort and money

It's 2 waiting to be picked up and 5(!) on the way. Add that to the results of my trip to Pulp Fiction bookshop yesterday... Sadly it's meant to rain this weekend 😄

It's the teeny tiny Dundee marmalade jar that did it for me 🫠

The power of naming people and events should never be underestimated. We must fight for names such as hers to be remembered and recorded wherever we live.

As I understand it as diagnoses of autism have risen, diagnoses of "childhood schizophrenia" have dropped. Maybe it's only the label that's changed?

Dr Asperger developed his theories in the 1930s and 40s. The boys he studied then would be in their 80s? now. I think his was the first published description of autism. Although my degree is ancient history now (1984) so take that with a grain of salt. But of course none of that fits the narrative
