Hilarious …so the US/Israel complicity/partnership in the bombing of Iran is now being re-framed as ‘local asset protection’ lololol man Trump/Nettie really do think peeps are that stoopid huh?

Oh great it already cost $140 to fill the tank in Australia… cant wait for the latest Netanyahoo fallout…
comment in response to post
Yah, Its kindah obvious isnt it? Trump & Netanyahoo way underestimate the worlds intellectual capacity
comment in response to post
Its a no-brainer israel are in cahoots w Trump on this one. They ‘publicly’ pulled their staff from the embassies 3 days ago. This has been on the cards for months. Israel/Netanyahoo are war mongers & Gaza is their concentration camp.

Yup heartbreaking that the good folk in the military are being positioned against their own communities… cant Mao this stuff up.

Renting is a travesty in Australia. We should be putting up posters demanding Scape for Seniors. Mobster Developers & banks who favor investors over occupiers hv impoverished mid>low income Australians. In NYC/London all new devels MUST comprise 34% affordable housing based on 1/3 of actual income.

I dont know exact numbers but suspect its well into the 100,000s+ Most paid Aus taxes their entire lives & were burned by a system that intro’d Super in 87 to reduce the pension to sub poverty levels. Govs done ZERO housing for retired folk whilst subsidizing Scape apts for non-Aus students 🤬

So sorry to read this. This is so wrong on so many levels.

this is a frightening statistic. We have failed as a nation when we have impoverished our mothers.

IDF denies every single one of it’s murders until indesputible footage of the crime is uploaded on social media. The West & surrounding Middle East countries are all complicit in this genocide. Shame on you Jeff Bezos using yr privilege to pander to genocide. Gaza’s an Israeli Concentration Camp.

Just pray US doesnt copy Australia’s official economic policy of shifting the biggest expense of housing (& thus security&return) exclusively into the hands of those who ALREADY hv equity” with the rest of the population used as disposable renters (so easy2replace) to service their loans.

2/2 🏡 1/2 Serious flaws in either these credit ratings or this acknowledges that the AusGov intentionally maintains exhobitant prices by only lending to those with existing equity (forcing younger Australians to service Boomers tax free “Superannuation Investment Mortgages”
comment in response to post
Credit Ratings lack credibility when Australia maintains AAA status despite one of top % of Global personal debt due to the exorbitant housing prices. 1/2

Yup same has happened across the entirety of Australia… by 2 supermarkets who dominate the market to manipulate & impoverish farmers, food manufacturers & customers. Aussies pay extortionate grocery bills: suppliers suffer & new vendors drown. Time to revitalize the antitrust laws of the 70s…

becoz the most cunning tactic oligarchs did was buy up/consolidate media outlets… when prev leftie outlets are owned by a colluder, a massive prob emerges at a grassroots level. Collective power has been fragmented by media barons who’ve hijacked the “townhalls of a collective conscience”.

I think Trumps point is not to make foreign films more expensive …its to force foreign countries to stop offering ridic tax incentives that is sending US production off shore. He’s got a valid point… Australia is doing a dirty deal with in getting US production to post here.
comment in response to post
Europe’s film production remains constant. US outsourcing has not stimulated or reduced their output. Biggest loss 4 Aus was 1. Asia ramping up the ability to shoot & postprod their own productions 2. Exorbitant cost of Aussie realestate. It’s no longer an affordable country for primary industry.
comment in response to post
Soz… thats simply not true. US productions in Aus hv not resulted in increased local productions. Prior to US prods in Aus: films & commercials were shot & postprod locally. Gotta get real… the only peeps currently profiting are execs & wealthy investors.
comment in response to post
Yup… and even the aus based studios do mega indian outsourcing… the only peeps making $$$ are the execs & wealthy investors… there simply is no viable industry in australia w/o the US productions.

3/3 By 2015 everything from superbowl ads to feature films had significant vfx work being executed over nite in India in tandem with NY//LA effects houses. Outsourcing has absolutely slaughtered the US vfx industry. Check the credits of most Disney films now… majority of post is executed in India.
comment in response to post
2/2 Australia gained ILM & Disney in Sydneys Fox Studios over the pandemic thanks to insane tax breaks & the dollar being the Pacific peso. Hardly any of the work executed in Australia are of Aussie origin & artists hv to relocate from the US to work on US productions in Sydney. Thats not right.
comment in response to post
Having worked in the US Production since 1991, he is right on this one. Over the years, more & more productions have disappeared to Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Eastern Europe and post production to Canada, Australia/NZ and India. The US VFX industry is also srzly on its last legs…

Sadly Albanese has already shown he’s spineless at affecting meaningful change. His election promises were so underwhelmingly right pandering, that even if he fulfilled all of them Australia will still be adrift in the land of Boomercentric hyperinflated housing undersupply…
