Today, June 6th, marks the anniversary of D-Day — one of the noblest causes in human history. I wrote about how today, as a fascist movement attempts to seize control of America, we owe that generation a debt to defend not just our future, but our past. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/d-day-and-...

MMM3C Richard John Bartels participated in the D-Day landings. He served aboard LST 523, which was on its fourth round trip between England and the beaches of Normandy when it struck a German mine on June 19, 1944. Model of 523 is centerpiece of D-Day display at USN Seabee Museum, Port Hueneme, CA

June 6, 1944 – Commencement of Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of Normandy, with the execution of Operation Neptune—commonly referred to as D-Day—the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Yes. This is our living room! This is what happens when a seven-year-old asks "Can I make a Fort?" and grandparents say, "Sure!" Please note: The fort features a front door, a back door, and a window.

This article is so well done. But also, this gem from @vermontgmg.bsky.social 👏

June 2, 2025 open.substack.com/pub/heatherc... Appalling to read what the "Big Beautiful Bill" really does. Equally appalling: those who get their information exclusively fr FOXnews remain largely oblivious. They seem to believe all news from any other source is "Fake." God help us all!

🚨Israel killed three beautiful children today in Jabalia Rahaf, Rema, and Suhaib by bombing their home in northern Gaza Strip.😪😪😪😪🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

M.I.T. Class President Barred From Graduation Ceremony After Pro-Palestinian Speech www.nytimes.com/2025/05/31/u... I am mystified as to why speaking out against Netanyahu's policies is anti-Semitic. It's like claiming that speaking out against Trump's policies is anti-American.

I've just finished reading "The Leopard" by Giuseppe DiLampedusa...a fabulous saga set in Sicily during the years of Italian Unification. Stopped to savor this passage describing Don Calogero--the odious schemer oblivious to everything and everyone around him when focused on getting what he wants.

Here in the United States we have a President who doesn't believe Climate Science. The consequence of electing this willfully ignorant many are horrifying...on so many levels.

This is exactly what the Israelis are doing , it's systematic extermination.. we need to push our governments into stopping them now... it's so awful and the cruelty beyond our imaginations

June 1, 1945 Escorting 521 B-29 bombers, 27 P-51 Mustangs (of 148) were lost in a thunderstorm en route to attacking Osaka.

A crime against humanity. It seems to be a daily occurrence in Gaza.

No one should be deported to a country that's not the one they came from. If they deserve to be imprisoned, then put them in prison here. Otherwise, find a way for them to stay here legally. This is what Congress has failed to do for as long as I can remember.
