“Researchers hope that detailed study of the topography of the seabed such as around the Japan Trench can help uncover the mechanism behind the occurrence of giant earthquakes” But also maybe Godzilla

These AI images you keep posting are just ugly. What’s the point?

Completely agree, as the rikishi get stronger and bigger their bodies will take more impact in training and competition and then they’ll get injured more often. This will ruin the careers of some great fighters

This seems like a good thing, hopefully they can use the data to improve healthcare knowledge for all of us

But it’s so obvious to them they didn’t even need to bother writing it

These physics debates would be better without the *independent* thinkers, whose ideas don’t depend on anyone else being able to understand, or care what they’re really saying

He’s such a fool, it’s really embarrassing for him. The replies to that post are great though

Exactly! They have no he tactical nous of a hungry Labrador

And always too early in the race

It’s a mostly useless compulsion unless you have the strongest riders

Better than his team mate Van Aert so far. So good for such a youngster

With all due respect Andy, fuck The Telegraph

Actually you seem like a really weird argue bot

Commentators really don’t need to keep adding ‘femmes’ to the title while we’re actually watching the race. Obviously it’s the women’s race, there’s not going to be any confusion over that
comment in response to post
Hadn’t heard that one before, love it! Thanks

Dearie, you’re in a russian troll farm

There’s other news? Oh thanks I just assumed this was all the news

I can hear what’s going on around me better when biking with headphones playing music than driving a car and no music playing

Aah I see, thanks. I have been wondering about Japanese attitudes to twitter

Why put it only on twitter though?

It’s extremely misleading, he suggests ‘the top are being squeezed’ but - for example - has used median wages to suggest average workers are paying less tax, though as the share of wealth has been redistributed to the top they have a much greater share of the overall money earned

Hmm I suppose it’s touching, in an inappropriate sense

I could make wild guesses as to the differences between British and German attitudes, but I’d rather make the point that not all British people get fierce sensitive over its colonial history. Maybe too many - that could be due to ignorance and other reasons, but how does casting aspersions help?
comment in response to post
You were polite and seem very reasonable, which is entirely why I’m giving you a little pushback on the “British” remarks. There are definitely blind-spots and even hypocrisies in the British media and other institutions, though not every Brit is responsible for them equally
comment in response to post
I agree that the British education system should probably teach more on the horrors of its colonial past/present. But from these posts it seems that you’re holding any British person directly responsible and for it to be rank hypocrisy for them to ever remark on similar issues abroad

You two make a great team, you’re the ultimate pro and @joannarowsell.bsky.social is getting better and better every time. Her lead commentary on UAE was fantastic, hope she does more of that

Great recommendation, love it already

Thanks for the really clear and interesting explanation. I find it hard to understand how Λ can be described as gravitation while also opposing gravity and being that which drives expansion. Is there an easy way to make that obvious?

Ooh playground rhyme war, let’s gooo! First, I meant my aesthetic not my kid. Second I guess you didn’t actually read that article, it pretty definitively concludes that the plague can’t be true ”Finally, there’s simply no direct evidence”

Mine is the kid who tells them that’s a myth

Really great lecture

Without wanting to be rude Tim, the commentary is actually last on my list of things I watch cycling for
comment in response to post
There’s no way I’m paying that much. I don’t want to watch any other sports and would be effectively subsidising football content. I’m sure a lot of cycling fans are the same. There’s really not that much overlap with fans of football etc

Though next weekend is next weekend, who knows what van Empel’s and others have been doing training-wise this week. However, I don’t really rate the u23 competition that highly, and she’s already won it, so I would have preferred her to go for the elite, even if it meant faith place at best.
comment in response to post
I heard that she said the decision was made and that it was too later now. I assumed that meant it was impossible to change, like as in the entry rules or something. She didn’t seem 100% convinced that it was the right decision, but who would be? I guess it’s impossible to know
comment in response to post
I hadn’t heard of Sara Piffer so I looked her up, she was Italian, rode for the Mendelspeck team and was only 19 years old. So much dangerous driving out there!

Well you seem interesting, so I’ll follow you. Now you have one follower you didn’t before

Give her a job Eurosport!

Those things can’t all be true at the same time though. Maybe replace polite with decent
