Someone should tell Trump that Elon would feel very owned if he fully funded USAID and the CDC.

The entire internet right now.

there are decades where no posting happens, there are weeks where years of posting happens

people think agriculture is fully solved science for some reason and, uh, it’s not

They are absolutely going to use the equivalent of phrenology to study Biden's signature on every document they can find

Sooo 1) Sweeney was never the hero he was made out to be & 2) BotW is not a masterpiece, it's a 7/10 at best. It often feels like a generic Ubi game, dungeons are simple and don't build on one another, I often feel unmotivated as a player, and it is generally inferior to other main line Zelda games

They're literally doing the meme

👇🎯 The public isn't going to understand this, unless the presidents of R1 universities around the country <loudly> & <collectively> get out into the public square & start explaining this & calling out the existential threat to the entire 🇺🇸 university system. The silence is deafening right now.

Love how the press keeps praising Trump for press availability where he constantly reveals that he has no earthly idea what is goin on in his admin and the press does nothing with it.

Someone let Jake Tapper know that the elderly president seems completely out of it and not at all aware of what his own administration is doing. Might even be worse than Watergate.

Nuking 80+ years of American wealth and soft power in exchange for absolutely nothing

Yeah it's an incredibly provincial attitude from Americans. In the global context, the swings against the incumbent party in the US were trivially small compared to the punishment voters offered almost every other incumbent party regardless of ideology. Tweaking policy or message was just not enough

Uh what?

The pivot to blaming companies for the obvious consequence of your tariffs has begun

The "boys at Normandy" came from diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds! A number were 1st generation! The thing that bound them was despite these differences they were all American. Christ read a book or watch Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers

Oh my god

i will never get past this. the collapse of the global trade system because one guy does not understand what a trade deficit is.

One of the most underrated stories over the last 5 years is the Dems who have been corrupted by crypto money (growing every day as crypto pours money into primaries) causing a big split within the Dem caucus

it really fucking sucks that I have a materially higher risk of dying of cancer because a bunch of dimwit voters in the Midwest were mad that their burrito taxi was too expensive

"Tariffs are a great thing, just don't show them on your website to customers" is a flawless encapsulation of 2025 so far. No notes. 10/10. It's amazing how stupid these people think you are.

the jobs of the future, where you will be a hereditary serf producing goods for your betters

"the new model where your family never breaks out of the cycle of working at factory jobs that we've stripped all safety and economic sustainability out of in order to maximize profits for oligarchs. oh, and heavens no, this isn't for *my* family. just yours."

personally would like to see every store show what part of the price increase is due to tariffs bc if these tariffs ever come down, i need to see that price go right back down

It seems pretty likely that the increased consumption of goods during COVID because people couldn’t go out and experience the outside world as much would lead to them expecting to still be able to buy that much stuff, even when a) they were going out again and b) prices were inflating

Suboptimal, if I’m honest. www.wsj.com/business/log...

Bro they lobotomized your aunt

Actually. How the US benefitted from outsourcing its research interests to experts in universities.

The freight guys have really started freaking out over the past 48-72 hours:

Some would say "sneaky tactic" others would observe that odometer fraud is a federal felony. A creative prosecutor could probably tack on some conspiracy and mail or wire fraud charges too.

Harvard redid its whole homepage to push back against the administration’s demands. I mean, this is just a website but I think it’s kind of a great PR move: www.harvard.edu

This is a difficult time in financial markets but the real victims are the countless numbers of faceless small and mid-sized businesses who import from China and are getting vaporized overnight, and the White House would never take their calls.

If US automakers want me to buy their cars instead of their foreign competitors, they should consider making a quality product.

they finally did it. they invented a machine that can't run doom.

This is driving me crazy too. Not long ago 10% universal tariffs were considered the worst-case scenario, something even Trump wasn’t crazy enough to impose. Now have those PLUS 125% tariffs on China. Together, these raise raise inflation by about as much as original “Liberation Day” tariffs did!

Happy Appomattox Day to all who celebrate and I expect each and every one of you to celebrate.
