Beautiful artwork, and good luck getting your stories public facing! Awesome goal!

Thank you for this #SFFChat 😃 I'm working towards my goal of having some public-facing stories to share this year (🤞🏽).
Rn, I'm working on art commissions & looking for work for the months ahead (book covers, private comms, w SFFH or nature themes). I've set up a folio here: bydhiyanah.carrd.co 💚

Thanks! I wanted to find a slightly different flavor of troll regeneration.

Looking forward to reading more. The opening has been *so* good. I get the sense that King's writing is formative for a lot of readers.

Yay? (Yay!) The story is definitely designed to make one feel a little sad, intrigued, and worried.

Thanks! Yeah, it's always struck me as tragic for sapient creatures to be tethered to fragile mortal bodies. I suppose it's one of those core human issues that most religions want to address in some way.

In my background worldbuildng, dragons are spirits of stone, air, and fire. Most of them were cursed and transformed into Draegar, mortal draconic humanoids. Draegar culture is pervaded by a sense of horror at being trapped in flesh. It's something I'd like to explore in future books. #SffChat

Hi! I'm a high fantasy writer. In my debut novel, Out of Dark Waters, a traditional adventuring party suffers a direct collision with something much more Lovecraftian and has to deal with it.
I feel proud of a description of dragonfire: "From his jaws, there poured a blaze the sun would envy."

😀 Phaedo is the world’s only intelligent troll. He’s very excited to have guests at his villa in the desert, which he meticulously rehabbed from an abandoned ruin. Though he doesn’t require traditional sustenance, he’s pleased with himself for thinking ahead and ordering supplies.

She opened her mom’s spice drawer, running her fingers over the labels. Onion powder before onion salt—always alphabetical. Rearranging jars gave her something to do. It didn’t ease her restlessness.

💯It feels to me like a superpower that some people can read that much, that fast. I'm about 4.5 books in for the year.
