Huy Fong made a sauce everyone loved. Everyone! But it wasn't enough so they screwed over their pepper farmers to vertically integrate and chase infinite growth and now the sauce everyone loved is just gone.

It's the themes from the Mario Land Gameboy games doing it for me. I don't think I've heard this one in 30 years but I went right back to sitting outside the JC Penny in the mall waiting for my mom to finish shopping. youtu.be/6lhbYWbPmkE

The problem with writing a love letter to Chrono Trigger is that it was the product of a supergroup of the best people to ever do it working together at the height of their game. You're never going to live up to it. But Sea of Stars does come pretty close.

I kind of feel like Plante deserves a sub just for making a podcast where the image he used for the first episode to attract listeners is a screenshot from Outer Wilds. He knows who he's going after and he's got me dead to rights.

The good news for tech is that us aging devs aren't going to be able to retire, so they've got a few extra years to squeeze out of us before we die at our keyboards.

Every day it becomes more clear that Brian Herbert's and Kevin J. Anderson's take on the Butlerian Jihad as a battle against killer robots totally missees the point of Frank's more subtle struggle and the real damage that thinking machines do to the human soul.
