You lost me at blood test, I'm far too squeamish for that

I have POE on my core Switch and a few injectors from my current AP setup

The on-device AI processing, I think I saw an Lawrence Systems video on it and was very impressed. Definitely going to have to look into it.

Although not as pretty, I'll be keeping my PFSense setup for the time being. Although I do need to upgrade my homes CCTV cameras and I know their CCTV offerings is kinda nice

NGL everyone is definitely selling me on Ubiquity

That's not a bad idea. I have dedicated docker and VM hosts in my rack already and I do like the "Apple feel" of Ubiquity....maybe not their price tag tho

Thanks!

Ooo I do like the sound of that

I run an Optiplex with PFSense on it and I've always liked the idea of Ubiquity stuff. Does the app work fully locally or does it rely on some cloud server?

For anyone curious: no we cannot say any names or give examples of what was sent due to privacy laws.

We had the exact same thought process

I was sadly not thinking that intelligently when I came up with the name :D

You're not wrong. I would love to claim it as a clever marketing trick but it really wasn't.
Maybe a rebrand is in order 😅

No, it never has been :D
I'm fortunate to be friends with peeps that work for VRChat, but VRCDN has nothing to do with VRChat other than streams are watchable inside of VRChat.
comment in response to
post
This is just for this being streamed through VRCDN. We can't and don't moderate what peeps get up to while watching VRCDN streams since there's no possible way of us doing that (nor would we want to)

I couldn't find a something comforting gif so have this instead

We'd need to move away from Patreon to do that
comment in response to
post
It's...complicated. Bandwidth is expensive, a lot more than £5 a month for 6mb/s (pooling all Patreon income covers the cost of the network instead of just the 1 stream)
Increasing the bitrate is a huge exponential cost
comment in response to
post
That's fair. We don't have any plans on increasing bitrate limits any time soon.

The heck are you doing......?

TL:DR it's anything that "can cause arousal" which is ofc very subjective and very broad. It's also very context dependant.
comment in response to

Yeah.... I kinda expected peeps to not do a quick Google search.
Anyone who wants to read have fun I guess. It's a longggg read though, probably too long for most people to do and they will just keep blaming us.

Do it on Twitch, they don't seem to mind

I don't believe what I said is vague. If you're streaming and the camera is focusing on your butt or genitals, that would be classed as pornographic content according to the guidelines we were supplied by the UK government. It seems to be a common thing wiggle streamers do.
comment in response to
post
To be clear this isn't aimed at anyone directly. Just I know in VR sexualised content is the norm for a lot of people and some people are numb to it so they don't see why it could be considered pornographic.

Why does everything need a cloud connection? I'll never understand. I had to isolate my dishwasher because the first thing it did was ask for WiFi, and an account, and then it tried to buy soap.....

So if it's down, presumably the network is also down.....so how does it phone home to a cloud server to be remotely controlled?

Minus the walker I do that now.....
Or I would if it didn't hurt my neck.....

Hetzner also do storage solutions, 20TB for 40 Euro a month. It can even be mounted on your Windoze as a shared drive

I tried Linux on my laptop for less than a day and was frustrated with how it didn't like the dedicated GPU Vs the iGPU. I didn't have the energy to fight it even after installing Nvidia drivers so I just reinstalled Windoze.

Thank you for the kind words, but VRCDN would be impossible without my team! Klu and @24hourmusic.vrcdn.live
