Jungle Primary in practice is worse than standard primaries and FPTP.
Often, the most funded candidate campaigns for the weakest challenger in the primary so they have an easy win in the general. (Ex: Schiff wanting to face the weak Republican in the general over Katie Porter).

Some are just staffed with EMTs. The main difference is that paramedics can administer drugs and EMTs generally can't. There are other things that paramedics can do but EMTs can't but that is the ELI5 version.

Not super rare at the time. That was before Aeroflot had access to western planes.
Pulling up to SVO to leave, I had a great shot of the gleaming white Pan Am 747 towering over all the dingy Soviet-block planes. Sadly lost with the lost film. :(

Probably a Tu-134 or Tu-154.
No pics of the entire trip because the photo lab lost my film. Trip was in 1990.

Just sometimes he randomly managed to do some good on the side.

Yep.
The sound of silence in a data center is really eerie.

Even with N+1 redundancies, things can still go dark.
I had a 1MW data center go dark because the electricians were doing IR scans of the switches and when putting the cover back on the main transfer switch they bumped the switch. City, UPS and generator power where fine, but the switch was off.

Why does jurisdiction move with the kidnapping victim in ICE cases? In normal kidnapping cases, the location where it occurred is usually where the case is prosecuted.
If jurisdiction moves with the person, all ICE has to do is play hot potato with the victim and they can avoid the courts.

This was yesterday.

$work did this by having the CEO announce in the all-hands that the employee survey would be coming out the next week, and then they sent out a phish test survey and were surprised everyone failed.
Those surveys always come from phishy domains, even when legit.

There are a lot of guys that will do anything for flight time.
The local EAA chapter had an 'influencer' pilot talk at their holiday party, and part of his story was flying 'no questions asked' flights around Africa and other morally questionable contracts. He just cared about the flight time.

HAWK lights are the stupidest thing.
HAWK lights train drivers to ignore dark traffic signals.
That won't cause any issues during the next power outage when all the normal traffic signals are also dark.

At least they didn't do the all white fuselage like every other livery refresh in the last decade.
But removing the color on the tail logo is stupid.
comment in response to

Possible, but Hollywood rarely bothers with details like that.
They can't even keep the aircraft the same between scenes, so as long as the background looks like an airport, that's good enough.

The FedEx tails is what made me think ONT since it is a FedEx hub, but the ramp layout doesn't work.
VCV and SBD aren't a match either.
Not sure where else would have three FedEx tails and be convenient for Hollywood.

Unfortunately, from my interactions with the developer, they're incompetent, IMHO.
I've been to several meetings led by the developer and then the city one, and the developer hasn't made a good impression at any of them, even before the NIMBYs get their pitchforks and the developer has no defense.

There is also finishing and furnishings, advertising, etc. Starting a business has so many costs.
comment in response to

If you haven't done the math on what your costs will be, you aren't ready to ask for start up funding yet.
Rent is the big cost, but business licenses, renovation permits, insurances, etc, etc all add up.

Sunnyvale Costco showing why it is the best:

comment in response to

There was a thread on /r/bayarea about the Sunnyvale Costco the other day. Predictably, the theories went really racist really fast.
(The real answer is that the Sunnyvale Costco started out as a Price Club, which is why it is smaller than a standard Costco.)

I looked for your posts but couldn't find them, but reddit search sucks and endless scroll makes it impossible to scroll to a timeframe.
A good headline and pics in the post so something interesting shows up in the thumbnail are my suggestions. And stick to r/flying and ignore r/aviation.
comment in response to

Where did you post it? r/aviation is full of jokes and sim kiddies. r/flying usually has pretty good discussions. There might be other subreddits it would fit, but those are the ones I'm familiar with.

I got the FB password reset emails around 2am when someone was trying to hack my account again, so at first I thought they were successful.
My guess is on DNS or BGP misconfiguration.
