Appreciated your openness and really felt for you. What I will say is that the way you feel today may not be the way feel in a year or 5 or 10 years. I'm sure you'll have many more special moments with the Reds, your dad and your loved ones. You deserve those. They may just feel different.

It was a mini tournament run as a test event before the Euro '96. England, Brazil, Japan and Sweden. Young Roberto Carlos scored in that game, just as he was about to get his move to Inter.

Sorry, I did miss your point there. I was speaking more about the best young players in general rather than Wirtz in particular, who I don't expect us to get. That has to be our sales pitch, though, as Arsenal should and will be competing for these players with us.

Not lying am I? Leverkusen did fantastically well last season, but that squad is going to get picked apart this summer and they'll have to rebuild. They aren't set up to dominate German football. I don't think Arsenal will be looking to emulate them in any case.

A player like that probably thinks that they'll still get a good move even if it doesn't work out. We need to underline that players like Salah, van Dijk and Alisson have come here, won everything and become the best in the world. We're THE destination in England.

I am. But that's the first one of those I've had in 27 years as a season ticket holder, so I feel like I deserve it. I've paid my dues somewhat.

I know we like doing things the hard way, but I don't think my heart would cope with THAT.

Yeah, wasn't a booking that.

They won, but it was still funny. Part of me actually hopes they win the whole thing just to see them get destroyed in the Champions League.

Ah well that's what I get for laughing. Not over yet though.

Yeah probably. But Robbo will think whoever comes in is backup for him and will go out with a point to prove.

I think Robbo's been written off too soon. A proper pre-season and another left back to share game time with will bring his level up next season. Even if it doesn't he's our best left back in 30-odd years, possibly ever. I'll be sad to see him go.

I don't think he had Trent's technique, no. But you can't argue with Neal's record. Bad players don't get those.

Well, I only go back as far as Rob Jones (who was class, I'm sure you remember), so I'll have to take your word for it. I'm sure they didn't call him Zico for no reason.

Cracking player. Someone needs to track him down and get him in a Legends game.

I don't really blame him for wanting to go and try something new. He's done it all, apart from taking the captaincy he always said he dreamed of. He'll be a big miss, but we'll crack on. I'll thank him for the memories, but in joining Real Madrid he's joining a rival. I hope he realises that. 2/2

I'm still not down about last night. Our lads have gone above and beyond what most of us expected this season. We're gonna win the league! We're watching the last dance of Klopp's Liverpool, without Klopp. Next season we'll see the start of Slot's team. Hopefully with Virg, Mo and Trent. #LFC
