Congratulations to the 13 brave women who risked their careers and reputations to stand up to Cuomo’s sexual predation

We bombed Iran without congressional approval and I still have chores and work and kids in sports and supper to make. Living through autocracy and another possible forever war while living day to day is wild.

Local government matters. Vote in your municipal elections!

Covid is a social justice issue. Respirators cost money. HEPA filters cost money. Tests cost money. Vaccines cost money. Paid time off is rare. Affordable child care is non existent Covid disproportionately impacts those who are already the most marginalized Mask up & protect your community

Northampton, Massachusetts. Over a people showing up in the rain. #nokings

"And now, in the latest of a string of appalling actions, a sitting U.S. senator has been assaulted and detained in the state he honorably serves solely because he tried to do his job as a public servant. The good faith experiment is clearly over." charlotteclymer.substack.com/p/the-good-f...

If you're a Marine or other service member being mobilized to Los Angeles and you'd like to apply for conscientious objector status, call the GI Rights Hotline to get some guidance on your options: 1-877-447-4487

Wearing a mask is not “living in fear”, it’s adapting to reality. Covid changed things. It’s a multi system vascular virus that spreads through the air. Its killed & disabled millions. A well fitted respirator is one of the best ways to live your life while safeguarding long term health.

More than two years ago, Utah Republicans commissioned a study on gender-affirming care for youth. It just came back, and the conclusion is unambiguous: full recommendation in support of gender-affirming care. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

I think there are lot of well-meaning non-trans people who think gender-affirming care is a luxury or aspirational thing, like dental veneers or nose jobs. "Sure, it'd be nice if trans folks had this care but they don't need it, do they?" Yes. It's literally lifesaving. It's suicide prevention.

The state of Utah voted to ban pride flags so Salt Lake City Council decided to make official city flags that incorporate the progress pride, Juneteenth, and transgender flags so they can fly them without breaking state law

Hey look I agree with Leanna Wen for once

@npr.org for every minute spent talking to a non-autistic person about autistic people's needs, you should be giving at least 2x that amount to actually autistic people— & not just in written stories, but on-air. Apply said rubric to any other group under attack right now for their lived realities.

The fact that they’re tracking autism and not the bird flu automatically tells you they’re operating on eugenics and not actually wanting people to be healthy. They want you sick, disabled, or dead.

Neurodiversity 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 a 👏🏼 disease Can we please track infectious diseases instead? Sincerely, A Doctor #medsky #autism #rfk #handsoff

He is a union apprentice and raising three special needs kids, two of them from his wife's previous relationships so yes he is certainly in the running.

Oh, so they decided to go after the rich white suburban districts? “The administration has not offered a detailed definition of D.E.I. But it has argued that programs that separate students by race in order to provide targeted support are a form of illegal segregation.”

"But if religious public schools — or even, as St. Isidore requests, religious schools funded and controlled by the state, which are newly classified as “private” — can exist, they risk crowding out traditional schools that offer a secular education." See "What are the stakes?" at the end.

Senator Warren with the right anti-ableist language and message, plus excellent responses like "and they don't have to contribute to our nation's greatness to be worthy of respect and dignity!"

When the Canadian Mounties finally do invade, they will be greeted as liberators.

Elementary school principals going where university presidents fear to tread...

It's a small thing in the scope of his speech, but I appreciate that Cory Booker has mentioned disabled people several times when talking about those impacted by this regime

Happy "DON'T SPREAD DISINFORMATION except on this one day" Day, the worst of all the internet days

Sen @booker.senate.gov is still going. Support him! WATCH! Call your Senator & tell them you agree with Booker. This has gone far enough. 202-224-3121 www.senate.gov/legislative/...

Small thing to do for your visa/green-card grads rn. Make sure they collect the numbers of several *trusted* senior faculty and family/friends. Then teach them how to set up an action button that texts everyone at once with one button/Siri. Share location enabled. www.google.com/search?clien...

Common sense

Just going to leave this here should it become useful to anyone…

You GUYYYYSSSSSSS The military choir sang Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Mis at the governor's dinner at the white house. Thanks to @beebrookshire.bsky.social for helping me fact check tihs one. As far as I can it's only "officially" been posted on Dan Scavino's FB

In the 1950s and 60s, there were some Northern college athletics programs that refused to play against teams or in tournaments where racial segregation was enforced. In 2025, college teams can refuse to play against programs that discriminate against trans athletes. Same principle.

If your newsroom doesn’t have disability reporting, now is an excellent time to add it.

May we rage when we must and rest when we can. May we make the peace we so desperately need. May we turn our hands, in all things, to the justice that peace requires. The only liberation is a shared liberation. May we have courage sufficient to build it. Shabbat shalom ❤️

So disappointed by all the leftist takes on 47’s press conference today that he was saying the crash was caused by women and POC. He said more explicit and horribly ableist things and that’s being ignored.

Our social construct of willpower is actually nothing more than a pattern of executive function. Your neurotype isn't a moral failing, folks.

When we're talking about groups, terms like BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ etc are great. But when we are talking about individuals, specificity is better. Are they "a BIPOC" or are they Black? Are they LGBTQIA or are they trans? If you know how they identify, use those identifiers specifically.

This is horrifying. It is a real danger to trans children and non-binary and non-conforming children and anyone who doesn't fit cartoonish notions of gender appearance and representation. And black girls and women will be particularly vulnerable to this. If you've got time help shut this form down.

Billionnaires stole your living. Not immigrants. Not minorities. Not people who follow a different religion. Billionnaires. Noone needs a billion to live. Billionnaires could easily give you the money you lack and not notice the loss. They do not. They never will.

Kinda my circus, kinda my monkeys.

To set the stage for what's about to happen at SCOTUS at 10:00am, the case is called US v. Skrmetti. It involves a Tennessee law that bans gender affirming care to trans minors, mainly things like hormone blockers.

Unsubscribing from commercial email lists always feels really productive, and today is a GREAT day to do it. #blackfriday

I’m a vegetarian with the exception of turkey stock for soups made from scavenged carcasses. I appreciate this story for many reasons. #mapoli

This is your reminder that friends don't let friends share the U.S. News school rankings "report"!

The best place for me to be in the days after the election was the statewide conference of school committee members-- every last one of whom was committed to continuing the work and keeping kids safe. A favorite refrain: more teachers need to run for school committees.

How are there no gifs available for "motion to adjourn"??? Such opportunity for expression...
