We all know people we've seen go down the rabbit hole in real time, it can be very sad

Here is the list of zoning exceptions. Portland will now automatically grant up to 10 of these to almost any housing project, including a full additional story of height in all low-density zones

Yes, the Vancouver - Victoria geography is like it was designed specifically to make a downtown - downtown passenger ferry difficult...

About what you might expect, given a full squad rotation against a solid opponent. Could have been worse, see USMNT vs SUI for example

And 2 more starting for USMNT at the same time ... crazy

Don't often see 3 Whitecaps in the starting lineup for CANMNT...

For some reason that pic gives me a Voltron-like vibe, to be fair it would be transformational for the area...

It is quite a post-election shift we are seeing, I wonder how permanent it will be. My guess is a bit of a honeymoon phase that will fade over time, but may buy Carney a greater ability to get things done in the meantime...

I hope it bombs because I hate the plot. 1H: Violence isn't the answer, try to make peace, being yourself is OK even if you aren't he-man. 2H: Violence is the answer, defeat your enemies with raw force, being yourself is OK if you ARE he-man - you see, 1H was just a way to build power ahead of 2H...

Allowed by who? That is the problem, there is nobody in charge

Data is great, but it might be better to lead with a chart that gives a more realistic assessment of what is happening, i.e.:

Allying with the Liberals is indeed bad for the NDP electorally, but can be good in terms of advancing their policy agenda. This is the perennial challenge for third parties.

Yeah, the 5 years or less of interest rate stability model in Canada's mortgage market has meant a lot of economic pain in the last couple of years, but at least we are already over a lot of it, and will be completely adjusted to higher rates in a year or two. The US could be frozen for a while

Almost a month later and people wonder why we need to get rid of public hearings for projects that are compliant with planning that is already on the books.

I hope you guys are right, but my entire life has seen North American society consistently make extremely dumb choices when it comes to cars. I do like the potential for Waymo to make cities much safer by following traffic rules and keeping dangerous and incompetent drivers off the road

On a serious note, I wonder if the buy Canadian trend triggered a one time bump in food inflation due to supply chain disruption and US products being cheaper in some cases?

Probably second highest for immigration, behind Canada (pop growth rate 2.9% for CA in 2023, vs 2.4% for AU with lower internal growth in CA, but then AU might be 2nd to CA in house prices too (relative to income) so the point stands, regardless.

Whitecaps with a depleted lineup start two CAN in the mid and Badwal's first MSL goal is the winner as they beat the Sounders 3-0. CANWNT U20 wins Concacaf title with a last minute redemptive extra time Golazo from their star Chukwu. CANMNT smashes Ukraine 4-2 in a home friendly. Some weekend!

That has pretty much always been true, that is part of why the housing crisis is worse in Canada

Yes, pretty absurd. Who even will be on the pitch?

Can’t wait to see Promise David get some solid minutes for CANMNT

I think if the 6-plexes are required to have a medieval style tower and turret, and possibly a moat with a drawbridge, then any concerns about neighbourhood character should be satisfied. Alternatively, the buildings could be placed behind a 20-foot high hedge

More like Juny or Junust, or something that sounds better but gets the same point across

The only problem is that if you build too many large apartments near the schools, they won’t close due to declining enrollment and then you have a noise issue
