You know you're in England when no one seems to think it's even slightly suboptimal when your free school meals system regularly will immediately take away a week of meals from small children if a parent misses arbitrary windows of time to book them, and gives no options for automatic booking.

Looks like there's not a Jecht Avatar on Arena? I was hoping to have a themed Brawl deck or something with sleeves/avatar etc ;_;

Opening up the Final Fantasy 7 win deck thread with... Sultai stuff? I had like 4 6-3's in a row with cooler and/or better decks, but this one just went the distance. Didn't manage to get a Lab Maniac win, probably could have forced it but I'd need to stop attacking with my 6/6 for no reason.

Wait, is the MTG Arena Alchemy team going to given free reign to make some bananas Final Fantasy cards in a month? Feels like licensing might get in the way of that so there won't be any, but if they do I hope they go reeeaally deep on the references, too specific for the main set

For a strong clue about how well the children are letting me sleep recently, I just accidentally used the orange juice carton on my morning coffee instead of the milk. 🤡

Sad that I accidentally clicked 'Claim' before I could screenshot an absolutely sick Season's Past chaos draft deck. Ground out every game until opponents scooped to me looping the March of Wretched Sorrow.

Fired up a 'Mixed up' style chaos draft while watching one of my offspring through the night. Ajani auto-won a few games (lol Modern Horizons) but cruised up to 7 wins even when I didn't see him.

Standard continues to look heinous, but as far as I can tell Alchemy is even worse. Format's like, 10% UR and 90% anti-UR decks (that actually lose to UR every single time they don't win the dice roll) This post brought to you by me 18-1-ing my last 19 matches against decks trying to beat UR

I wonder how many other people are thinking of doing a set review of the Final Fantasy set, but every card is just "looks interesting/fun/flavourful, but would be embarassing to play into a current red deck and so is unplayable". To be clear, lots of the cards I've seen would historically be deece!

People talking about how expensive the Switch 2 games or GTA6 are going to be, while I currently can't find a physical copy of The Hundred Line - Last Defence Academy on Switch in the UK for less than £80. It might be a skill issue, I dunno, plus you can get a £50 digital copy, but I like physical

Okay fiiiine I guess I'm going to have to find out what you're supposed to do to get one of these, to see if I can find the time

For everyone who was like “Google search is getting worse,” we were absolutely right.

this has somehow only gotten more true sin the 12 years since it was first published

Didn't quite make it in day 2 in the Arena Qualifier. Played a build of Izzet that I think was good, just had a couple of awkward draws. Mostly farmed anti-Izzet decks over the weekend, looking forward to Cutter being banned and the Heist theme deck rotating out for the next time I play Alchemy.

I’m seeing a lot of outrage about this story but honestly it’s preferable to the old way of doing this which was both disrespectful of the deceased and traumatising for the puppeteer

Incredible post
