If you have information that could help us find the driver responsible, or if the description fits someone in your neighborhood, please call Investigator McHugh at 303-271-5668.

The SUV is described as light-colored (cream, white, silver), possibly a newer model Honda Pilot with a Colorado Hunting and Fishing Fund Conservation license plate. The SUV now has a broken rear passenger-side taillight. At the time of the crash, there was a paddleboard sticking out of the back.

If you’re unsure, contact the Colorado DMV directly using official channels. Let’s keep those scammers in the rearview mirror.
Stay safe out there, Colorado!

- Do NOT share personal or financial details. The DMV doesn’t need your driver’s license number, Social Security number, or banking info over text.
- Do NOT reply. Any response just tells the scammer you’re a real person.

DMV will never send unsolicited texts or emails demanding payment, threatening prosecution, or claiming your driving privileges are about to be suspended. If you get one of these messages, remember:
- Do NOT click any links. Scammers want to trick you into giving up your personal info.

The babies were healthy, safe, and waiting for momma to make her way back, just a normal day for the JCSO Animal Control team (cape not included). 🐾💚
It’s what we do.

As the stove door opened, momma raccoon ran up the chimney and onto the roof like it was her personal action movie. Meanwhile, our officers gently scooped up the tiny, fussy fluffballs and gave them a safe spot to wait: a cozy, quiet bush just outside the home.

Biking keeps us sharp, helps the environment, and gives us a whole new perspective on the road. Plus, it’s great cardio! So, on World Bicycle Day, remember to drive safe, share the road, and keep an eye out for our bike patrol.

Take a minute to check your tags and make sure your vehicle is ready for 2025. It’s a quick fix that can save you a ticket (and a little embarrassment).
Don’t let your tag time-travel—keep it current!

They tried using their TASER’s green lasers to coax it out. The bobcat’s verdict? Not interested. It left at its own pace, right out the open back door.
Guess some intruders just aren’t dazzled by our high-tech tricks.

This fair is just the start. Detentions staff will host similar events every month because when returning neighbors have real support, everyone in Jefferson County benefits.

One of the presenters was a woman who first came to our facility as an inmate; today she’s a successful mentor who came back to share her story and encouragement.

Events like these remind us how important it is to connect face-to-face and strengthen the bond between our team and the people we serve.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a night to remember!

They were also taken to jail on an outstanding warrant.
Help keep yourself and others safe on the road. It’s simple, just follow the speed limit.

Whether you're heading across town or just around the block, it only takes a second to click — and it could be the second that saves your life.
If we see you unbuckled, expect a ticket. No exceptions. No excuses.

In 2022, Jessie and her handler, Deputy Kelly Fosler, retired from the JCSO and moved out of state.
Thank you, K9 Jessie, for your service to our community and beyond.

She was a member of the Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States (SARDUS) and hand-picked for the FBI Human Scent Evidence Team. Amongst the calls, Jessie located the victim of a homicide, a missing child in Wyoming, and played an integral part in the convictions of three homicide suspects.

FOX31 recently tagged along with him during traffic ops and saw what we already know: Deputy Kilbon is the kind of officer you want out there — dedicated, sharp, and truly making a difference.
We’re excited to share that FOX31 honored him with the Officer of the Month Support the Shield award! 👏

Recently, Anton made a massive bust, uncovering 4.9 kilograms of fentanyl hidden in a vehicle. That’s equivalent to nearly 50,000 M30 pills, with a street value of $1,000,000 dollars!

His favorite day of the week? Wednesday, when he gets to train alongside his fellow K9 friends!
When he's off duty, Anton enjoys relaxing with his family and chewing on his beloved Kong toy. But don't let that fool you — this pup means business.
