Sorry operating definition changes with action games. By grindy, I mean time to kill stuff, not leveling. Everything just felt like it had a ton of health and it took 10 minutes to finish fights half the time. Not cause it was hard but because you don't do a lot of damage in comparison to their HP.

Played it for a couple of hours and bounced off pretty hard. I love DmC combat too, but it felt too grindy to play for me, which is something DmC never is. The acting was great though. Does the combat get less grindy?

Even the damage lock at 9999 and the mechanical justification for breaking it eventually is so well thought out. There's so much great narrative context complimenting design decisions. This being a debut game is just insane. They should be so proud. I can't wait to replay it.

Make sure you make it out of there.

100% this. I had a kid this year too so it felt emotional immediately.

I think it's important to note that NASA doesn't get to just fail like SpaceX does. If something explodes for them, they get major funding cuts. SpaceX is doing the Silicon Valley "move fast and break stuff" philosophy for space. They cut corners because they can and this is the result.

Got a spit take on me from that one sir. Thank you for your service.

We moved just out of the city by an arboretum and the previous owners did a really poor job maintaining the plants on the grounds. The one positive is that we have a family of these every year because of all the trees. They're beautiful.

In all reality, things looked bleak last season when we were 2-2 and Sirianni came in with a shaved head. Just cause we won the Superbowl, doesn't mean we weren't looking down the barrel after a franchise historic collapse. They deserved the hate for a bit.

"So it was called the Boneyard Match right? And AJ thought he'd buried me alive, but turns out, I was behind him."

I think there's one less after Stone Cold ran over a lady.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't know it was first party until today! That's crazy, I could have sworn it had a Squaresoft cred on the box, but I must have conflated them as a child because I played Final Fantasy so close together with it.

Undoubtedly the most underrated game from Squares catalogue. There's a reason there's such a devout following. I've probably played through it at least 10 times.

It's truly humbling in person isn't it? For some reason, I didn't think it'd be a big deal, but the minute you make it to the canyon, it's just awe-inspiring.

Oh man, Double Strike looks pretty OP in this format.

Oh hell yeah! I'm glad you guys went out! Doing some Chaos Drafting? Next time you should check out the boxing leagues. Feels like you'd both dig it.

Here's what I'll say: just finished the first and jumped right into the second. They are both great, the second is very much improved and almost feels like a different game mechanically because it's so much more refined and well designed. You can skip 1 but the story is solid in both.

Yeah I was coming back fresh to the game too, talk about a welcome back.

Pretty sure I had over fifty attempts my first time against Ludwig. Brutally hard DLC, but so damn good.

It's great! Excited to finish and see what else the team with your talent follows-up with.

I have 2s, 3s and 4s with ideas for 1s that I planned to build before the post of the beta and that feels pretty on point so far if not a bit loosey goosey. But we are a loosey goosey format.

The planes are the perfect containers and narrative lifeblood of magic. They keep it fresh and interesting. The compelling characters flow naturally from them.
comment in response to post
March of the machine worked even though it had a ton of planes involved because each story was about how that specific plane was responding to the threat. It's just hard to keep coming up with a clever reason for the latest motley crew of characters you know to be together, but now as cowboys.
