If it’s any consolation, here in the US I was working a journalism job for $32,000 20 years ago, and I have heard entry level salaries are about the same today. We need more people entering journalism, but these salaries are less than appealing.

Thank you. I’m a member of the sandwich generation and this is tough. I’m grateful my dad passed before Medicaid was gutted. Otherwise, mom would be bankrupt.

Therapist here. I am really starting to wonder if his dementia is so bad, that they keep him completely in the dark about the stuff going on around the country and keep him golfing because it keeps him out of the spotlight in a way. His mental decline has been really bad
