I would enjoy that conversation. When hiring an Uber, you should be able to choose one via selecting a topic of conversation from a list

And lack of self control. Like if you don't have earphones and you want to watch something, too bad do it later. You don't have to be constantly scrolling through content in every 3 secs of downtime. I can go on and on... This is my biggest pet peeve.

This makes me hate humanity. It's pretty objectively rude/obnoxious. I real fee like this is a battle we've lost though, especially in LA people do it everywhere...

Really?! I liked the first one! Almost stopped the sequel half way through lol

I hated Smile 2 :-/ I hate when horror films don't live by a consistent set of "in world" rules. I also hate when any weird stuff is just shoehorned into the plot for shock value under the guise of "its a hallucination."

Me too for sure, but I do occasionally miss the community. I wish we were better as a society at fostering secular community.

They were also against automation cause they knew that all it would do was leave them penniless while the owners get insanely rich. The owners said that no, we’ll use the profits to uplift the whole community, esp the workers we replaced. The luddites knew this was a lie and stood up for themselves.

There’s a great book about the Luddites called Blood in the Machine. It makes great contemporary comparisons to the rise of AI.

I'll let regular tesla drivers w/ "👎 Elon" bumper stickers off the hook because, fine, they were just trying to save the environment by driving e, but nope not the cybertruck drivers. Cybertrucks couldn't look more like they were created by a fascist. You saw it and made that decision, own it lol

You’re right that it depends on the field. That’s why we were responding from within the same field. In our field, one off interviews like op describes don’t typically require irb

I think if there's any possibility that what you're discussing/sharing could cause the activist psychological, legal, or community harm you should talk w/someone from IRB. Otherwise, it's probably fine. I'd ask before recording, and send any quotes to them to okay before including in your article

How rustic are we talking? Are we talking camping with or without functioning toilets? Also, with or without a fresh water source that you will swim in regularly?

Twain should take his own advice. Strunk and White said, "Omit needless words."

Okay, my post is about the younger gens who can’t buy ANY dwelling of their own at all because even small ones in their area cost >$600k now. People having to/being able downsize is not the same thing

Yep. Exactly. The only way the math maths is if you were born to parents with money, and that’s the world they wanted to create
