Thanks man! I used to work for a big satellite music company and I was in charge of categorizing all the music going into our system - it made me hate labels and genres 😆 And killed my drive to listen to new music for a loooong time. Music industry free for over a decade and finally recovering

Oh, sure. I definitely
generalized but also I was thinking specifically of 70s-80s power pop re: The Nerves, Shoes, who had good albums but were surrounded by a hundred other great singles from other bands during that era. I don’t disagree with your list but not what I think of as power pop I guess

Power pop is a genre of singles. Go any deeper and it falls apart. Except for like, one album by the Pointed Sticks.
