Have you heard the ‘Between The Wars’ album he made with Laurence Juber? I know how much you enjoy Laurence’s acoustic work, so I can thoroughly recommend that one. We saw the two of them on that tour circa 1995, fantastic gig.

Standing with you all, Gabe.

Thanks as ever for organising John - even if I was late! I still maintain Chaos and Creation is the better album, although listening to the two records, MAF's louder production meant it stood out more immediately. It's a really solid album though with some great moments. #maccamemory07

Not sure I can listen to End of the End tonight. Still not come to terms with Brian Wilson's passing, without contemplating Paul's... Nod Your Head is slight, but a fun rocker, with a great throat-shedding vocal, deliberately placed to provide a light moment at the end of the album. #maccamemory07

Paul's voice is fantastic on House of Wax. #maccamemory07

Just checked the recording dates - the album was recorded between October 2003 and February 2004 and then again, after Chaos and Creation, between March 2006 and February 2007. #maccamemory07

Vintage Clothes/That Was Me/Feet In The Clouds providing this album's second side medley moment, common lyrical themes through each song, without the recurring musical motifs Paul deployed with earlier medleys, Abbey Road, Red Rose Speedway, etc. #maccamemory07

Yeah, Gratitude is possibly my least favourite song on the album. #maccamemory07

Half of the album writen & recorded before Chaos and Creation with the full band and then finished a few years later, if I recall correctly? #maccamemory07

No, that was last night. I was just sat outside enjoying the last of the sunshine and suddenly realised the time!

Hi John, hi everyone. Sorry I'm late. Completely lost track of time! #maccamemory07

Count me in, John! Compression aside, it’s a really good album.

What an extraordinary performance. Her voice is incredible (naturally), but the way she reinterprets the song there makes you experience every emotion and moment of the story.

Wow! I love that. Whereabouts is it?

I loved the first episode. I was completely thrown by the reveal that the lawyer’s story we’d been following was not happening concurrently but instead formed the basis of their first cold case. Looking forward to watching the rest.

My copy of ‘Carrie & Lowell’ in the boxset style packaging arrived yesterday. I haven’t played it yet, but the booklet containg dozens of candid family photos coupled with Sufjan’s emotionally raw essay make the album feel even more devastatingly intimate than it was already.

Here they are in conversation with Rob Brydon at London's beautiful Union Chapel earlier this month: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wooi...

My pleasure, Kris. I hope you enjoy the watch.

Drat! I missed the discount, but so glad it worked for you and you managed to get the set, Billy. Enjoy - you deserve it.

Have you seen the Evening with Sparks’ event that Rob Brydon hosted at the beautiful Union Chapel this month? Sadly, I couldn’t be there, but it’s now been posted in full on YouTube: youtu.be/WooiooYp7Ow?...

I've just given in... The presale said 'sold out' when I went to bed last night, so I thought that was fate intervening, but they've updated the site and they're available again now. Consider it an investment, Billy.

I’m so excited they recorded it and we can watch it after the fact. I was gutted not to be there.

Magical must be the word! It’s one of *those* places in Beatles lore you can barely believe you’re there. Like going into Studio 2 at Abbey Road.

I’ve got the original set but as a CD collection. One of the highlights of my collection. I’d dearly love this vinyl set, but £400 is outside my budget, sadly.

He really met the moment, didn’t he. People might have expected something saccharine, but Tug Of War and Here Today are among Paul’s greatest works.
