i almost can’t read this it makes me so angry. delusional grifters with purity fetishes and eugenic worldviews have brought pain, suffering and death to children www.nytimes.com/2025/06/22/u...

Hard not to feel despondent at how chaotic everything feels. I can draw a straight line from the broken way media covers politics in the U.S, to how we end up with an amoral madman crashing our economy and starting a war five months into his term. The work continues, but I’m mourning a bit today.

Summer baseball with the IronPigs. In this house we stan Hambone in the pork race.

I’ve got one who is finally old enough in a few weeks and have been white-knuckling on this one since the election, knowing RFKJr was going to decimate HHS.

I'm doing a panel here at Lehigh on writing op-eds, audience is academics across discipline to help those who want to do public scholarship. I have my own insights as a journalist and public writer to draw on, but if you take pitches, what are 1-2 things you want folks just getting started to know?

This is a vital message: one of the larger reasons BlueSky is refreshingly free of alt-right shitlords is because in the early days we made a gentleperson’s agreement to starve these fuckos out and it worked. No likes, no quotes, no engagement. They got bored and left. Please keep the Old Ways.

i am not saying merely engaging with someone is lethal i am just saying “the pope”

We got our first autograph pull after ripping about 50 packs this year. Series 2 uniform swatch for Will Smith, 4 of 10.

Before we give him too much credit, just realize Tucker could ask that question because he is around fundamentalists enough to know how they are wired (I heard what Cruz said all the time in churches I grew up in). I don't know if many journalists have this level of literacy to do what Tucker did.

I just like to post these data from time to time to puncture the mythological aura of mid 20th c protests. They were less popular than pretty much any 21st c mass action & people criticizing them used the same lines. Protest is about people coming together, shaping narratives, & building power.

A top staffer to Sen. Tina Smith emailed Sen. Mike Lee’s top staffers on Monday about “how much additional pain you’ve caused on an unspeakably horrific weekend” Via Sam Stein on twitter

NYT last year: We're no longer going to endorse in local races. www.nytimes.com/2024/08/12/b... NYT as soon as a candidate they don't like has a shot at winning:

My 13-year-old son drew me a card. 😂 Who’s a better father role model than Heisenberg? (He’s never seen BB but knows all the good memes)

Wow. Giants gave up on Harrison. Devers is going to help the offense immediately though.

This guy made me a dad almost 14 years ago. He came a month early (7 lbs 11 oz) and has been on his own schedule ever since. Being a dad to someone still learning/growing is like learning a new language. You grow with them as their world gets bigger. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Get off Xitter. (I did on Election Day, after 15 years and sizable audience. Have never looked back.)

By the way I have about 200 Series 1 doubles from this year’s set if anyone is collecting and missing anything. DM me what you need.

Today’s Father’s Day happening. Been waiting a few days to start crossing off the checklist for the series 2 drop.

I was buying an appliance and found one I liked at my local store, then did some calling and found a store 30 miles away that had it on sale for a slightly cheaper price. Drove out there and burned all the savings on gas, but now I can say I got a deal.

Fathers Day grid solution, which has us remembering some A’s (I think maybe 7 of them, possibly more).

During the pandemic I was the one who ate all the heels of bread. Things were hard to get and we were conserving, and my kids hate heels. Ideal Dad Mode conditions. Anyway, being a parent means doing acts of quiet generosity in an ugly world and hope your kids will mimic that. Happy Father’s Day.

Thank you to my son and his day care for this terrifying Father’s Day gift.

Today’s grid. Always be Rikkerting.

"Within the Meta AI app, a “discover” tab shows a timeline of other people’s interactions with the chatbot. ... While some of the highlighted queries and answers are innocuous ... others reveal locations, telephone numbers, and other sensitive information, all tied to user names and profile photos."

I've watched this multiple times. No idea what Tim Scott was going for here.
