Their ideas here are so flimsy, they barely withstand pressure.
They don’t see us as people, only symbols.

And I’m not a part of it. It’s weird to reply on a separate thread.
Leave me out of it.

Based on this thread, I have no idea what you're referring to.
The only winner in this thread is me, because I defeated @shammaiintl.bsky.social in this gif battle.

Don’t get me wrong, I get trapped into this cycle too, but we can and should avoid this knee-jerk behavior.
Dunking on folks is weird behavior and it doesn’t help anyone.
If this place is about discourse, then do that. But be an adult please.

I love the fact that the rabbis dislike Kol Nidre and wanted to get rid of it, but the people love it. and that’s how we know the rabbis did not have tremendous coercive power, it’s still around.

Finally, if you’re flattening out this conflict into a single dimension, you don’t understand it.

I’m seeing a lot glee from folks about one rocket attack or another and I think that’s fucking gross.

We are in profoundly dangerous and unprecedented territory and I think folks should be very sober about the implications.

All of the leadership involved, from Iran, the proxies, Israel, and even the US, are all held by contemptible people.
They are all opposed by the majority of their citizens/people.
That makes possible decisions by all of these players that much more expansive.

Every assumption we make from this point forward should be done very carefully, everything is different now.
Thinking that the calculus is the same for both Israel and Iran at this moment as if it were 5 years ago would be a mistake.

The fact that none of these proxies are taking any meaningful action, with the exception of the houthis should be a serious marker of how much the landscape has changed in the past few years.
The proxies exist for this exact scenario!

You’d think it was obvious, but a lot of folks on here don’t seem to get that.
That’s why I said it.

I’m so glad you enjoyed.
I liked that part to so I cut it out special:

Using the native bluesky feeds I find to be about the same as Twitter.
The fact one can’t do them privately is a problem.

That’s how I use feeds. I have one I call ToVo which is Top Voices and the feed I check most. I have it pinned as my first after discover.

That’s 100% true also. I’ve been streaming Israeli news and they don’t know much either.

I had hoped bluesky would be better with live news, but it’s really not.
Even the trending issues is full of people saying crazy shit rather than useful content.
