And what better weekend to do this on than one where many will be away with families for Father's Day, and the rest distracted by the shitshow of US parades, protests, and now government reps being shot in their own homes by people impersonating police.

Ugh, he just gets better. 😩

Sad to hear about the death of Marc Garneau. Engineer (PhD), Naval Officer, Astronaut (First Canadian in Space), Cabinet Minister. What a life!

Keep doing things like this!

This. All day.

brian was starting to think that maybe his mom wasn’t coming back

If there was any doubt about the Gov's motives in all of this it sure is looking less and less like actually governing in good faith.

Wow, just wow. UCP replaced the board and Chair, now they are cutting funding for Alberta Innovates, claiming that the organization has “problems.” Sounds familiar. Put in new people, blame the organization, then cut it off at the knees.

Now that it’s clear that (1) Albertans don’t want to separate & (2) Alberta is not separating, could pollsters & media focus on Danielle’s half a billion dollar procurement scandal, unjust firing of the AHS CEO, and UCP MLA corruption? #Alberta #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #Canada #CanadaSky 🇨🇦 #yyc #yeg

Separation from Canada isn't like picking up your ball and running back home. You don't get to keep the ball. This Albertan wants nothing to do with separation talk. If it ever happened I, and my family, would be moving. I hear Winnipeg is nice.

Yes!

There’s so much work wrecking health care that Danielle Smith had to double number of ministers responsible to 4! albertapolitics.ca/2025/05/ther...

Timing is everything. It's during the lunch hour on the Friday of a long weekend. My guess is something is happening they don't want to have any attention drawn to.

The Premier’s “exes” have had enough. First, it was Guthrie demanding answers on the Premier’s husband’s “lobbying” activities. Then yesterday, former UCP MLA Scott Sinclair unloaded all the cannons on Danielle Smith. What. A. Moment. #ableg #cdnpoli

The messaging from the Alberta separation crowd is the political equivalent of thinking you can divorce your wife once the kids are grown & keep the savings, the house, your girlfriend, your hairline, the dog & ex wifey will still show up on Sundays to cook you dinner & do your laundry with a smile

The Premier of Alberta has a storied history of blowing things up (figuratively, not literally), when she can no longer control what’s happening. The Calgary Board of Education. The WRP. This is what she does. IMHO, she wouldn’t hesitate to rip Alberta apart to save her own ass. #ableg

This is excellent and should be not only heard, but joined.

Your daily reminder that the leader of the CPC is not the Leader of the Opposition. And won't be for at least another 6-8 weeks. Oh, and he's not using this downtime to get his Security Clearance, let alone campaign is the riding he wants to win.

More reason to buy ice cream tonight.

The headline I didn't know I needed today.

"They said I could keep the stapler."

The reality in Alberta right now: • Measles cases 6x higher than the rest of Western Canada combined • Highest youth unemployment in the country at 17.2% • Separatist talk driving economic uncertainty • Soaring utility and insurance costs This is what happens when ideology outweighs leadership.

Yes.

Beautiful.

Uh, what? *Shakes head slowly...

my cables will not be "managed" I love all cables equally. each is empowered to roam freely in pursuit of self-directed goals, articulating a personality of its own. that's not a tangle, it's a statement. cable management is a tool of the oppressor.

Said on the same day The Alberta Republican Party was registered. Led by a former UCP member who quit when he was caught breaking elections finance rules.

Who knew that the first ones to stand up and fight for Canadian unity against Alberta separatists would be the First Nations?!?! They're bold, clear, and I am all here for it, too. Canada needs everyone. All of us.

I thought the Liberals wanted to kill oil and gas.... Enbridge is a Calgary company.

Canada will be watching this closely. The blessing of having the election when we did - and then electing one of the world's top economists as PM - is that other nations will expose the details that can be used in later negotiations.

Perfect.

The real AI we need.

Agreed.

I think most Albertans/Canadians are in this same boat.

What would happen if PP ran against one local who happened to out-campaign him in the byeelection with crowd-funding helping along the way? Looking for a local campaign to give to... For a friend...

Welp, there it is.

The Assembly of First Nations is joining others in calling for the repatriation of cultural and sacred items currently being held by the Hudson’s Bay Company.

Because no one would notice if they just carried on like business as usual because the name of the health provider is different now... www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Oh my. Doubling down on her approach to make separation/cessation more easily achievable while not taking accountability for enabling the actions.

I think it speaks volumes that we're now 2 days past the election and still no announcements about how PP stays on as official leader of the opposition. While they're tight lipped I think we're seeing cracks in the CPC around how he approached the last few years with his brand of negative politic.

This is more significant than we realize. When First Nations voices itself in this way, with this language, they're making a huge statement. Ms. Smith had best listen carefully.

All kidding aside, the biggest reason to keep Poilievre out of Parliament is to change the tone. We can't operate as a civil nation when one party leader exists only to attack the other. Civil debates and factual discussions, not personal attacks and three-word slogans, please.

This almost snuck under the radar, which I think was the point. With everyone distracted by the Federal results why not table something that they know will cause massive controversy. It would be terrible if this story somehow got a lot of traction....

They were sent to another sovereign nation without thought. What did they think the response was going to be?

Dance with Gurdeep break.

Witnessed.
