I lived in Oklahoma for 7 years and we local Democrats used to share this image with each other

I've been part of a weekly protest in my tiny town and it's mostly retired folks. They lament not having the youth out with us. Curious to see what the demographics this Saturday will be.

As someone who grew up rural then lived in Philly for a decade, I really think that's part of it. Rural folks expect to drive everywhere and be able to park easily for free. And they have no idea how to ride public transit.

It's true! These meetings can be boring. But if you show up repeatedly you get a reputation as an engaged community member and your voice grows in power

Asset caps may also encourage people to stash cash rather than put it in a bank where it will have to be reported

I've driven the streets of NYC when I have to unload my van at the Javits Center and I don't think anyone who doesn't have to for work would want to drive there, the subway's faster and leas stressful

True! I keep thinking about how different things would be if most members of Congress had experienced getting food stamps or unemployment.

As a Vermonter, I agree! This old Tumblr post called Vermont Gothic sums up that vibe www.tumblr.com/birdyaviary/...

Really depressed to wake up to this. I rely on Medicaid and so do members of my family. And so many others in my community!

If Medicaid gets cut our local health center, Mettawee Community Health, will probably close because it relies on Medicaid funds. Thank you for fighting this for your constituents!

Oh lord. The whole point of a computer is to be able to compute. Like, numbers!

If my calculator gave me a wrong answer even 3 percent of the time, which is the lowest estimate of AI "hallucination" rate, I would junk it

Vermont also lost a couple of million dollars due to these cuts. Luckily my area got its rural broadband last year, but I feel for those who were waiting and now will be stuck on shitty DSL

I was at a protest this weekend and someone had an 8647 sign and wow, some of the passersby got very triggered by it

I could use a comprehensive guide on how to turn off AI on everything. I keep turning it off when I see it on an app I use but it keeps popping up in new places. This stuff should be opt-in, not opt-out. Email newsletters have higher ethical opt-in standards!

I think only people who have been on Medicaid at some point in their life should make decisions about funding Medicaid. Bet that would disqualify most of Congress!

When I first heard about this sentient computer that will reward those who made it theory, I thought it was a joke. Then I thought it was a con. Then it reminded me of people in the church I grew up in.
