Heads up - two incorrect references to Customs in your article… should be Immigration.

From what I’ve read, new e-gates are being installed at all airports across Spain, enabling them to do ETIAS/EES… so should be commissioned before then.

New e-gates are being installed at Madrid. They’re part of a larger effort to modernise border control & improve passenger flow through passport control. Non-EU passport holders will be able to use them once they’re commissioned.

Small businesses often benefit / win business because they’re able to market / say “we provide services to XYZ”… and will accept these imposed terms to continue being able to use these claims.
comment in response to

Doesn’t work if you’re a small business - your suppliers won’t accept your imposed terms, nor will the miss your custom.
If you’re a big business, smaller business will in many cases have no option but to accept your imposed terms.

“From humble greengrocer to vibrant, eclectic café, Bill’s has become the go-to destination for bold flavours, fresh ingredients & vibrant energy.”
Didn’t know until now that Bill’s is one of their restaurants.

It’s common in business - not the first business to do this, won’t be the last.
Another variant is a discount for paying an invoice at 30 days otherwise full payment at 90+ days. Often businesses have little or no option but to continue supplying these companies.

Looks like Jason missed ‘the cherry on the top’ of his transport-themed weekend in London on Saturday night… the silent disco at London Transport Museum.
Maybe he’ll be back on Friday 31st October for the Halloween special?

Some devices were built with some forward thinking giving the ability for the modem / SIM module to be easily swapped out. The other devices need to be swapped out.

London Transport Museum’s Acton Depot is just one of a few warehouses where you can mooch around a museum’s storehouse and enjoy items in their collection that aren’t out on display. The V&A is the latest…

Most of the 3G network has already been switched off, Virgin Media o2 are the last operator with them finishing the switch off in the coming months.
Then 2G will be switched of by 2033 - takes time because smart electricity meters & other devices have 2G as a fallback for 3G.

Not only ice cream...
Jessica Morgan-Helliwell admits she would rather meet her mates for a pastry than a pint. The 26-year-old is part of a growing number of people flocking to craft or artisan bakeries in pursuit of a flaky croissant.

Sure was 😃 our walking route was mostly… to Rest Bay, along the headland, along the prom, through the harbour alongside Sandy Bay Beach, cut through to John Street, up to Nottage village, then a fair way up along West Rd back to the house.
May have passed each other out & about on Thu, Fri or Sat.

Was going to say the same thing - people these days really don’t want to be fobbed off with generic messaging.

Won’t stop people… as people don’t listen to announcements these days. They’re way more engrossed in their devices. On a flight yesterday, we’d already turned onto the runway & accelerating - saw one device in use not in flight mode and another person chatting on a call with headphones on.

They came from the east, they came from the west. 😅 Enjoyed Porthcawl’s fab weather and walks along the headland most days for the last four weeks - currently en-route back home to Bali.

Know about lottery winner taxation in Switzerland, Spain & Portugal - thought Hannah was still living in Scotland.
comment in response to

If you are a UK taxpayer, you will not have to pay tax on your lottery winnings. Whether you win a small sum or a jackpot, the entire amount is yours to keep. This applies to prizes won from the National Lottery, EuroMillions, scratch cards or any other legal lottery.

Remember the optimism in people in years gone by when new DLR extensions & stations were being built. 😎 Looking at the map it looks like it’ll be quite a short journey time from Canning Town - but will be a much better travel experience for people that would get off there.

The plan is, once the older B777-200 have left BA they’ll merge the B777 & B787 pilot pool with them being certified to operate both.

QR flies to many countries where a visa or declaration of some sort is now required… the checkin confirmation works okay for them.
comment in response to

That’s a poor #PaxEx! Let people continue to be able to checkin online - do a document check when they drop off their luggage, then issue boarding passes.
Most passengers these days stress when they can’t do online checkin, fearing the flight is oversold and they won’t be able to fly.
