I'd argue a lot of this stuff isn't e-waste at all. Which pisses me off. Perfectly good devices for office work or students.

I'm running an after school club with a bunch of these MacBook Airs for something of the same purpose.

And anything to be a couple hundred bucks or less, even if "new" will basically be brand new e-waste.
Go pay someone fifty bucks for one these things, spend the money on a fresh battery and high capacity NVME and pick a mainstream Linux distro like Mint.
Throw big tech the middle finger.

The trade in value on this are like a 75 cents each according to Apple.
Don't buy into planned obsolescence.
Computers are so powerful now, that unless you're doing serious production tasks or creative work, you don't need anything decent new from the major manufacturers.

They said my passport photo didn't match my face according to their facial recognition software.
Supposedly.
I had a bunch of other IDs on me though. But they took two hours to confirm.
Assuming it was even the real reason. Cops can lie.
