p.s although i love the novelty of creating the actual toggle, the actual process of avoiding FOUC, etc. always feels "meh"
comment in response to
post
always user choice IME/IMO โ that said, almost lean towards not even having theme toggles in sites and jus' letting it lean into color-scheme these days
if someone needs "reader mode" - can provide that as a different option with better legibility (sometimes people prefer light mode for reading)

no support? use a thin "sentinel" element that you watch with IntersectionObserver to toggle attribute styling ๐ค
if (!CSS.supports('container-type: scroll-state')) {
new IntersectionObserver(([e]) => {
root.dataset.stuck = !e.isIntersecting
}).observe(sentinel)
}

one current thing i like to do is rubber-duck a11y implementation ideas back and forth to see what it comes up with in terms of nuances etc.
was having this conversation earlier with someone about how it is still very much on the driver
the danger of AI is it can amplify habits, good or bad
comment in response to
post
I don't use an AI powered IDE or anything
but I like the idea of AI powered design collab tools to get ideas off the ground if that makes sense
comment in response to
post
think we have the same sentiments - with AI, it's great for assisting me on things I can do but want to save time (data manipulation scripts, etc.) where there are binary right/wrong results
but when there's nuance, I'm not keen
comment in response to
post
haha - it's a super power when you think about it though? ๐
humility in design is golden โ have you tried any AI tools to help out with things?
comment in response to
post
for real โ find this level of design super fascinating
it makes me question things every time I'm putting together an icon or something
comment in response to
post
yeah - it's like the O being larger on purpose, right?
thing I don't get here is that the B alignment is so minuscule that it could almost be believably unintentional ๐

what are you deep diving on this time? ๐ค
yeah, lowering the perspective down to closer the card size will increase that depth but if you want more jump, the z-axis is where it will be ๐ฏ
know those feels, been copywriting the course landing page and keep iterating ๐งโ๐ณ
comment in response to
post
depth could purely be a matter of perspective or yo-yoing the z axis whilst using individual transform properties or animation-composition ๐ค - got a bunch of animated card demos like this in the demo repo
