Watching any of the programmes on commercial TV streaming services almost always sees the episodes bracketed by gambling ads at night. Life insurance for the over 50's during the day, probably.

I'd look like old-school Count Orlok if I tried that again.

I'll be walking around Leeds in a Violets t-shirt and Austrian paras. Oh, and black jeans. Almost forgot. Understated but I can't get away with shit I pulled in my twenties anymore... Thirty years later 😆

I know. It's not a screensaver.

Same as in the UK. I have long COVID but even that doesn't qualify you for the vaccine. Luckily, I am in the position where I can afford to pay to get it privately. Many are not.

Hopefully. Still a gammony knobhead though. Needs to move on.

Knobhead with a gothgirl fetish. I was in FB group that had a few such types. Well creepy. Insisting listening to metal makes them goth and that you don't have to listen to goth anyway and so much for the tolerant left, etc. GTF!

There are worse things to be arguing about on Reddit 😆

My Tuesdays are tempered by it being the night I play L4D with some mates.

He's just a spineless reptile. I have held the view that he is a tory plant from day one of him stepping forward to lead - so that there is no real choice. So now we have large C Conservative "SINK THE BOATS" on one side and small c conservative "stop the boats" on the other.

Maybe he's trying to make Reform unnecessary!

Same old neoliberal "fear these minority groups and not the billionaires and corpos that are actually stealing all your money" bullshit. I like cyberpunk as a genre. I don't want to live it.

At best, we can attempt to stop them poisoning younger generations with their backward views.

Well, there's no point trying to change their ways. People rarely change. The people who were racist pricks in my year at school are still racist pricks now. I came to the conclusion that the only way progressive change happens is when the old ways die - literally.

When my father-in-law died at home, his carers continued to perform CPR and went absolutely above and beyond. It clearly affected them and to hear shite like this is infuriating.

ICE "officers" probably can't be deported.

Absolute classic. Love the Lorries.

To this day I still can't believe she covered Sheep On Drugs. 😆

I don't work nights but the amount of people annoys me too. I walked through Victoria Centre in Nottingham the other day and only just made it out "without incident".

Coolaid.

Absolutely. I ought to get some work done!

Orgreave was brutal! I remember my uncle (who was a miner) talking about it. How the police where from the south of England so they had no skin in the game. (The ones at the local pit were from Hertfordshire!)

😄 Yeah. I was young at the time and I caught some of the "splash damage".

It does put everything into perspective!

On of my clients was a company in Nottingham that had a significant amount of engineers from around the Notts/Yorks area working there. They had a lot of hatchets they seriously need to bury.
comment in response to post
The damage was already done by that point. Football matches in town between the local team and one of the local rivals have to have riot vans on standby because people still haven't let those times go.

I grew up in a mining village. I remember the strikes very well. I got off the bus one day, outside the pit and was shouted at and spat at by some of the pickets. I was 12. They didn't just see the working miners as the enemy but also anybody that lived in the village.

Mansfield. North-Notts (the "North" bit seems a bit... strange as I don't think there's any other parts of Notts designated East, West or South.)

East Mids here, but saw pretty much the same thing. The destruction of industry just poured more fuel on the racism. Something, I feel, this area still needs to come to terms with.
comment in response to post
Wow. That's some... nerve.

I'm glad you put "Satire" on that because in the current climate, that just looks like a standard edgelord post.

I'm looking at something like 20 years! (Strangely coincided with losing the hair and the cheekbones.) I'd probably run a mile if it happened now. 😆

Elections here have been postponed as the TUSCer candidate has died. This area is going to end up Reform. It's between them and Labour and this area voted about 65% for brexit.

I've had a similar "debate" with someone who finally tried to argue that The Doors were goth and they came before industrial. 🤨

I hate the monitor instead of a dash cars. It just looks unfinished and cheap.

I really liked the Palladium stable of RPGs.
