Major diplomatic movements in Qatar seem to have come out of nowhere? It’s obviously not implausible that Qatar may be involved in a regional conflict, but that’s true for lots of other countries in the region too. I think this may be the result of something specific set to be disclosed later.

Iran is probably a bit stuck in practical for military retaliation, but I also think it’s unlikely they will just take this lying down. The only real option to them is to close the Strait of Hormuz. The US has run exercises such as Millennium Challenge 2002 for a military response to exactly this.

I do think the BBC, the only news app I get notifications from (which is probably rotting my brain) massively overuses their notifications. Pre-Covid entire days would pass without a notification if nothing particularly important had occurred, now almost every new article they publish gets one.
