Most Albertans, including healthcare workers, will now have to pay to get a COVID vaccine. Danielle Smith promised Albertans would never have to pay out of pocket for the medical treatment they need. She lied. Such a cruel, dangerous, anti-science, anti-public health decision. Make it make sense.

Angus: Canada can no longer view the United States as an ally. We know that Donald Trump doesn’t believe in liberal democracy—he doesn’t believe in the rule of law. Prime Minister Carney is not welcoming the leader of the free world to Canada. He is welcoming Vladimir Putin’s sock puppet.

Jailing their political opponents, turning the military on their own citizens. America is a fascist state.

This makes me so proud to be Canadian: www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

A lovely, kind, decent man.

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful man...

How cool is this?

Go Shai!! You make Canada proud.

NBA playoffs: Thunder steamroll Nuggets in Game 7 to make Western Conference finals

It's not just reflecting, her rhetoric has pushed more people over to the dangerous side. Radicalism between leaders and their base is mutually-reinforcing.

On the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Europe, Trump says it is "unlikely" he will use force to take over Canada. We hear f--king crickets from Democrats. They may be willing to leave these matters to a toxic president. Not Canada. We come from a long line of fascist fighters. #elbowsup

The humble, positive, and unifying concession and the victory speeches wrapped up a good day for democracy! Well-done Canada 🍁 🇨🇦

Crimes against humanity! I am sickened to my core! This must be stopped!

Your daily reminder: America is no longer a democracy. Everyone stops needing to talk about "democratic decline" or "heading to a constitutional crisis". We're there. Pure fascism is here. The United States is right now the greatest threat to global democracy of our lifetimes.

Superb profile of Mark Carney by @davidreevely.bsky.social thelogic.co/news/the-big...

I voted. Was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Canada's excellent democratic process is not something that we should take for granted.

A small pencil. A single box. And the most powerful act in a democracy. Vote. Like our country depends on it. Like we’re honouring those who fought to give us that right. Like we care deeply about democracy. Vote like our voices matter, because they really do.

So grateful that we have Elections Canada to guarantee free and fair elections. Hand-counted paper ballots, same rules applying all across the country. Simple but effective. #cdnpoli

This is some sick shit

Don't forget the only active political leaders in Canada who answer questions to #RebelNews and give them time are Alberta's Daniele Smith, Saskatchewan's Scott Moe and CPC Pierre Poilievre. And tonight #RebelNews shows the country they don't care about democracy. Vote accordingly. #cdnpoli

And so far as I know there are no mass murderers running around free in this country either.

More lies from Poilievre. No one's s7 rights are violated by the parole eligibility of people who don't actually get parole.

And Canadians' understanding of politics in this country would have been much poorer for it. Keep the faith, David, you're providing an invaluable public service.

Perhaps a professional body that establishes standards for what is/isn't real journalism would help debates commission withstand court challenges?

The Beaverton demands same debate invitation as The Rebel, even though we’re not as big a joke

It’s cool how Rebel and their friends got more questions in the scrums than any real media outlet interested in actually asking a question instead of staging a self-inflating stunt or acting as a human t-ball stand for their leader of choice.

Jagmeet Singh refuses to answer a question from Rebel News. 💪 She then asked a follow-up accusing him of being an authoritarian who would imprison journalists he disagrees with. He said that's why he doesn't answer questions from Rebel News. #cdnpoli

The real winner of tonight’s debate? Confirmation bias.

Whatever else you think about advancing the French-language debate to 6 pm because of the Habs, it will be a relief for print journalists. One of the hardest campaign assignments is covering a nighttime debate with only minutes to spare before you have to send in your story.

What planet is IRCC living on? www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic.... A "spokesperson for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada said ... the U.S. continues to meet the legal criteria of a safe country at this time."

And we are sending people who come from the U.S. to seek asylum here back to this. Is this who Canada is?

Canadian universities have started doing this too. My own sent out an email a week or two ago offering wiped laptops to borrow for people going to the US. (They should probably warn against US travel entirely, but...)

Breaking news: The European Commission is issuing burner phones and basic laptops to some US-bound staff to avoid the risk of espionage — a measure traditionally reserved for trips to China www.ft.com/content/20d0...

Right up there with the Martin campaign's "soldiers in the streets" ad for worst ever political ad.

I hate to say this, and it gives me the chills just to think it, but CECOT is on (and not a short way down) the road to Auschwitz.

Daily reminder that Canada must scrap the Safe Third Country agreement or be complicit in this kind of outrage.

Palm Springs has launched a billboard campaign to profess its love for Canadians, who last year spent $238 million there. But the reason Canadians are no longer visiting is that the US is snatching people off the streets and jailing them at the border. Tariffs are now the least of it.

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

Couldn't agree more.

Anyway, let people like Danielle Smith and Preston Manning expose themselves for what they are: selfish, petty pro-MAGA ideologues, more interested in pursuing a narrow vision that sees Alberta as little more than the oil industry. Most Albertans are better than that.

Hot take: Alberta couldn't separate from Canada even if a majority voted for it. 1) the SCC's Quebec Secession Reference, in important ways, doesn't apply: Albertans are not a 'people' where Qs of self determination or the principle of minority rights (important to the Court's reasons) apply. 1/n
