I agree, but, while he knows he is losing, ICE truly is his Gestapo and Hegseth will absolutely be deploying troops against people resisting him. I don’t see this ending without violence and yet we still cannot be the ones initiating it.

As with tariffs, Trump doesn’t care how this will affect the US economy as long as he is personally getting rich. I don’t like where this is headed. States who don’t stand up to the bully will end in a bad place. States who do might find themselves with a full military invasion.

Take heed. Lee will be replacing Alito or Thomas before the 2026 elections - and he might actually be worse than either.

He’s the vilest of the vile in Utah, and I’d place long odds that there will be a retirement and he’ll be on the Supreme Court before the 2026 elections.

May he be struck by lightning.

Is it too much to ask for him to get struck by lightning?

Was there ever any doubt this would happen? It’s absolutely nauseating and they are reveling in it. I am desperately hoping we can keep our democracy and make them pay for this.

If people think the massive ICE funds in the Big Ugly Bill aren’t going to be used for “anyone Trump doesn’t like” they are fools. First they came for trans, then they came for immigrants…

The real money making is not the visa. The people getting these visas will be oligarchs and will be buying all the US assets for a song once he’s destroyed our economy. Think hedge funds are evil landlords when they have a monopoly? You ain’t seen nothing yet.

The Big Ugly Bill massively increases military spending. I am confident we will be aggressors for, at least, Greenland, Panama, and Canada.

With today’s GOP, every accusation is a confession. Curious that after crying for 8 years, one of the first things Trump does is gut election security. We will need iron clad proof though.

Fair. He certainly should be able to take criticism, but it’s his account so abuse should be off limits. We shouldn’t expect him to be any less human than any of us. He could certainly put on a mask for Bluesky but I’d far prefer he be authentic, even if that’s off-putting to some.

Those libs (I identify as one) are much more likely to engage in meaningful discussion to learn about and from others’ perspectives. That is, they are much less likely to bring in the toxicity Mark is talking about.

You get ad hominem is a Latin phrase that can be wholly independent of formal rhetoric? Everything still applies.
comment in response to post
Ad hominem attacks won’t accomplish anything. Neither will wishing ruination on billionaires, whether you are right or not about it being the holy grail to fix our ills.

@mcuban.bsky.social as Bsky numbers grow, so will the trolls. I greatly enjoy your perspective on how big business views issues. Please don’t leave. Ignore or block the lib trolls.
comment in response to post
The left has their own set of less than critical thinkers. My approach to lib trolls. If they attack, I ignore them, if they ask questions, I engage. There’s still a lot more of the latter here than the other place, but the numbers of the former are growing.

Make no mistake that money is intended for Trump’s Gestapo. It’s not just for immigrants. It’s for anyone who he doesn’t like. The GOP Congress are fully aware of this and most support it (they will all vote for it).

It’s because they are owned by conservatives who are owned by Trump. Independent media is the only way we will get real reporting until/unless we regain control of our democracy.

How so? I think you are inferring that my statement means there can be no public private partnership. I don’t know see where you got that from.
comment in response to post
I stand by my argument. Government leverage private companies heavily but prices are checked through open bids and reporting requirements Musk is circumventing. Handing the *control* of these services to a company kills competition and everyone but that company loses.

Musk will lose this battle. Trump can easily resurrect the DOJ cases DOGE squashed in a much more weaponized form. True to his history, Trump will have zero hesitation squashing Musk, as he no longer needs him.
comment in response to post
While great entertainment, this is a distraction from the rescission bill that will rob agencies of moneys already appropriated by Congress. www.cbsnews.com/news/white-h...
comment in response to post
Won’t happen. Musk is asking to see Trump, but Trump Is saying no. Musk knows Trump can ramp up all the DOJ investigations into his companies at a moment’s notice in true weaponized fashion. From Trump’s side, this is also a great distraction from the rescission package he’s asking Congress for.

Not to worry, Trump’s golden visas are opening the door for Russian and South African oligarchs to come in and buy them all for a song. And then jack up rents to unimaginable levels.
