Not all - but most. But either way, it’s not for you to decide for all Muslim women. And it’s also not for you to decide that only one ethnic group shouldn’t be allowed to wear their preferred traditional dress.

I’ve lived in and visited many Muslim countries; the burqua, niqab and hijab are all seen as very normal, and in most cases, optional. Why would you not want to give women a choice?

So only Muslims shouldn’t be allowed traditional dress?

Orthodox Judaism requires modest dress? Is that Ok? Are Turbans for Seiks OK?

So masks are ok if they’re not for health purposes? I get so confused by what’s OK for MAGA on any given day.

He was literally on my tv at that moment, and I was thinking those exact words.

Surely they’re faking this? This has to be a joke?

Damn you. Not being in the other place I’m able to forget Lee Anderson exists….

And I’m personally sorry I wasn’t there for you, but Twitter was actually bad for me.

For what it’s worth - I sincerely think that Jenrick is the worst, most morally bankrupt piece of beige toilet paper like human I’ve ever seen. He’s pretty close to the top of my punch list.

Did the other non European families let their children die?

Do you know if that (or any young ones) costume is on permanent display anywhere? I would love to see that.

If they get rid of Badenoch Jenrick isn’t going to be the leader, Farage will. He’s already said they need to collaborate in private, it’ll become public. Suella will join the shadow front bench, and we’ll have another 4 years of them telling us how miserable we are.

Of course - he’s been such a great help with Ukraine and Gaza. There must be minerals in Kashmir.

Any sponsored immigrant has to pay the surcharge - and you have to pay it with each visa application (but not ILR). I also think if a business is sponsoring foreign workers it also has to pay a visa surcharge, to encourage them to look local first. The jobs are here if people trained for them.

Good - bring that talent into the UK. Leave the MAGAs with sunlight and ivermectin.

This is a Labour comms failure - Reform and Tory are all about reducing benefits; they just want the older vote. This is a benefit that should 100% be means tested.

Oppose and call them out - make him enunciate them again and again and again, and the question them the way other parties are questioned. He gets a free ride and says nothing.

I think Labour voters, and voters in general, need that bucket of water. People think not voting is a protest. Not voting is nothing - it’s apathy - and it’s letting the worst of us influence politics.
comment in response to

We don’t seem to be. Even with the polarisation in the US, rather than looking to minor parties, people just aren’t voting. If anything, even if we (I) don’t like the result here, having 5 competing parties suggests a more European approach.

Australia hasn’t happened yet - and Murdoch runs the media. Fingers crossed but let’s not get cocky!

Acknowledge them and then get back to work? Stop being so meek, stop speaking in vague, idealistic terms - meet them head on - speak plainly to the people in language they understand. “We’re fighting for democracy” doesn’t put food on the table.

Why are you calling this a “stunning” victory (6 votes) vs Labour winning in Tyneside is “narrow” - but many more than 6 votes.
comment in response to

Poor media handling is the key; neither Cons nor Reform should be making gains on Labour based on their economic policy - so why are they? Rather than left wing votes shifting right, they’re just not voting at all - hopefully this is a wake up call for voters as well.

More like Germany, surely? I love the idea of a multi party left coalition.
