Asking Europe to rause their defence budget to 5% is clever. Most European countries will buy weapons made in the USA. Although Europe, unlike the US has no claim to being a superpower, comparing spenditures is superflous.

If i were the CEO of a large corporation. Would i move production capacity to the US? Yes, if it was planned long before Trump started this trade war. Investment of these anount need long term considerations. If not, i would wait 3.5 years, knowing a new president will end this nonsense.

Globalisation was promoted to increase profits by producing cheaper in foreign countries. Consumers appeoved the cheaper products. That worked, however the newly generated wealth didn't benefit the wider populations. It primatrily made soeculators, investors and the already wealthy wealthier.

The issues we find ourselves in today, started with Reagan, when he deregulated the financial markets to create more wealth, believing in the trickle down effect. 30 years later we know it failed. Wealth trickled up making very wealthy individuals. Austerity spread.
