I as a Jewish (pro-Mamdani!) New Yorker am not immediately “scared” of antisemitism, but I am wary because of the rise of the int’l far right, Nazis in the WH, etc. Tangible stuff. It’s frustrating how *any* expression of that even as a longer-term concern makes the entire left roll its eyes now.

I feel like with “outsider” artists the real story is often a lot less interesting than people want it to be; e.g. our 2025 understanding of neurodivergences gives a pretty quotidian answer to the reams of chin-stroking “what was their deeeeal” questions re our fav eccentrics.
